The next few days are set to be scorchers here, so please make sure you stay hydrated, cool, and chilled out!

I’ll be closed tomorrow (25th June) due to the heat. Gotta think about my own health and comfort, and also that of my dependent (aka: Loki the cat).

TLDR: too hot to wear a bra - staying at home tomorrow.

Is there anything better than listening to the rain (yes I know, apart from the sunshine we had last week)? Even the tree out front is soaking it up!

What are you reading at the moment?

I’m currently reading Invisible ADHD by Shanna Pearson, about how ADHD presents in women and tips and tricks to work with it. So far, so good. Very interesting with bite size chapters!

It’s a quiet day so far today. If you are in town and want to hide out - from the sun, from people, from noise - and just get back to yourself, I’ve got you covered with iced drinks, affogatos, floats, and regular brews and sweet treats. I can even do them to-go, so you can head to the green and wilds of Kendal (or the Lake District) for a sunny recharge and leave the shadow moments to frolic.

A quick message re Monday 18th May:

I will be open for takeaways from 10am but due to a large gathering in the cafe, I cannot seat people till after 11.30.

So, FOR TOMORROW ONLY, if you want to come and sit in for a brew and cake, best try after 11.30. The cafe is open until 5pm as usual.

Happy Monday!

How glorious is the tree out front of the shop? They’re so beautiful and the light hits them just so… the stories they could tell!

Come on in and get a brew and a card of the week to start you off right :)

For those who haven’t yet visited and are a little unsure of where I am, I’ve included two photos to help you out :) Google Maps is sometimes a little off lol, and I always feel landmarks help. So if you see the tree in Blackhall Yard, Duende is nearby. At a crossroads between the car park, the shopping centre and the yard.

Open today and Tuesday 9-5, and then 10-6 Wednesday through Friday.
