The peonies are looking fantastic in the Walled Garden just now, with the delphiniums starting to put on a real show too.

The cutting garden is filling up nicely and providing plenty of flowers for arrangements around the Castle, while the kitchen garden and borders are changing almost daily as Summer gets underway.

If you’ve not visited recently, it’s a lovely time to see the Garden at its best.

Open 7 days a week, 10am–5pm.

As restoration work is carried out on the Castle roof, we’re celebrating the incredible builders of the natural world. Uncover 10 fascinating Animal Architect signs, collect hidden letters, and solve the secret word challenge while discovering how animals build, design and create in the wild. Perfect for curious young minds and adventurous families!

The Amazing Animal Architects Trail runs daily from 5th June until 30th September. Explore the Castle Grounds using your trail map, enjoy nature, solve clues and discover the wonderful world of animal architects together.

Make your visit even more unforgettable by joining one of our special live animal shows on the 15th July and 25th August. Get up close and hands-on with some of the architects of the animal kingdom! From beaver dams to pufferfish gardens, discover the incredible creativity of the natural world as we meet spiders, snails, snakes and more, and learn all about the amazing constructions and designs these fascinating animal builders can create.
