❤️ Alex's Farewell ❤️
With great sadness, we are sharing the details of Alex funeral. We hope that as many people as possible, who knew and loved him can come together to give him the send-off he deserves — whether you were a close friend, an acquaintance, part of the Stag & Hounds family, or simply someone whose life Alex touched along the way.
📅 Wednesday 16th September
🕙 10:00am — Stag & Hounds
Malcolm and the family would like everyone to meet at the pub for 10am.
We will then line the street together and stand side by side as the hearse leaves.
⛪ 11:00am — St Joseph’s Church, Chalfont St Peter
Everyone is welcome to join the family at St Joseph’s Church for the funeral service at 11am.
🕊️ 12:30pm — Chiltern Crematorium
Following the service at St Joseph’s, everyone is welcome to attend the crematorium and continue Alex’s final journey with him.
The family would be grateful to have as many of Alex’s friends, family and loved ones there as possible.
🪽The wake - Stag & Hounds, SL0 0RW 1:30pm
The family welcome you to join them back at the Stag after the ceremonies to celebrate Alex's life, the way he would have!
⚽️ A football shirt for Alex
The family would love everyone to wear a football shirt for the day in honour of Alex’s love of the game.
There is no specific team — any football shirt will do. Let’s fill the day with something that represents a part of Alex that he loved.
🌹 Flowers and memories...
The family are happy for anyone who wishes to send or bring flowers for Alex, to do so.
However, if flowers aren't your thing, or you'd like to leave something a little more personal, we will also have a memory box on a table at the wake. Whether it’s a funny story, a favourite memory, something Alex once said, or simply a few words to let the family know you were thinking of them — every message will mean so much.
These messages will be kept for the family to read at a later date and will hopefully give them something special to look back on in the difficult days, weeks and years ahead❤️
Please be aware that the pub will likely be closed earlier than usual on the day to allow Malcolm and the family some private time to process, grieve and be together.
We kindly ask everyone to respect their wishes and give them the space they need during this incredibly difficult time.
Let’s come together, stand shoulder to shoulder, share the memories, raise a glass and remember Alex for the special person he was.
Always one of us. Loved forever. Forgotten never❤️⚽
