The Laughing Fish The Laughing Fish is a rural pub based in a small village near Uckfield and Lewes.

The pub was built in the 1860s to serve the newly-opened station on the Oxted to Lewes line and was known as the Station Hotel until 1957, when an enterprising landlord decided to change its name. The present owners, Andy and Linda Brooks, have been at the pub since 2001 and, despite huge changes in the industry since then, have remained true to their principles of retaining it as an individual vi

llage pub, known as much for its cask ales as for its good quality home-made food. The pub has undergone a few physical changes under their stewardship - in 2002 a children's play area was part of improvements to the garden. In 2007 the interior was extended and disabled access and a new toilet block were provided, and in 2013 there was a further interior and exterior makeover, providing improved seating and lighting.

The best surprise for me is receiving flowers. This truly made my day! I’ve been hoping to receive one ever since last year, so it’s a wish come true. It really makes me feel like I’m part of this wonderful village now. 🌸💐Thank you to the mystery flower bomber for such a thoughtful surprise. It really made me feel part of this wonderful community.
