Hello all, Sharon here.
Well, the previous message may be a bit of a shock and this is the last message from me. It is with very mixed emotions that we come to the end of Geek Retreat Ipswich.
It has been an epic journey from the day we finally got the keys over five years ago. I know this safe space has meant more to all of us than just a place to buy cards.
Geek Retreat was never just our shop—it belonged to everyone who walked through those doors. Thank you for making it the community it became.
I've watched babies grow up, welcomed the first Geek baby, celebrated two weddings, made friends who became like family and, of course, had loads and loads of fun and games.
I know this place has changed my life—not just because of the people I've met, but because of the way I see the world. One of our former teammates once said, "It's how the world should be on the outside."
And what a team! From the early days with Gary, Shorts and the 'Bens' to the current incredible team: Kaori, Baz, Dean, Luke, Kay, Wolfie and, of course, the legend, Adv, who has been with us since day one.
I am looking forward to spending more time with my own family. I may be Nana G to loads of Geek kids, but to two very special little boys, I'm Grandma.I want to thank my entire family for supporting me throughout this wild ride.
A special mention to Rob. He may not have been in the shop, but he has worked tirelessly behind the scenes to keep us going.
My message to the other franchisees: you are all epic, and I wish you every success with your shops in the future.
I guess all I can say now is THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart.
