Apologies folks we will not be open today due to staff shortage. I'm sure many of you were under the impression we were already completely closed anyway... but you will have at least one or 2 more chances to get your vegan junk fix over the next 2 Saturdays before we are completely closed.

With a heavy heart and a very sad emoji, we have to deliver the news that we are closing the Alleycat. Unfortunately, I did not manage to find a new partner, but I am very thankful for everyone who has offered a helping hand because frankly: you rock! Hosting this space has been the best job I've had so far and I will greatly miss all of your friendly faces and conversations.

We will be open on Saturdays while we're still packing our bags so pop by for one last fish & chips and keep your eyes peeled for specials.

I'm a day late to the party but...

AS F**K

I'm always keen to make sure as a team of proud allies and members of the lgbtqi+ community that we don't use this time to try and exploit the community but rather ramp up our efforts to be a safe and exclusive space for all.

Last year we took your stories and posted them anonymously to highlight just why pride is so important.

This year I'd like to do two things I'd like to ask for you to write a message (which again with your permission we will post anonymously) to someone who has not yet come out for whatever reason. This can be a message to your younger self or it can be a message to someone you might never know.

Secondly we are always trying to be a safe and inclusive space for the community and would be keen to hear from any groups or possible groups that might be interested in forming an ongoing lgbt programme of events here at the alleycat!

In either instance please get in touch and keep on priding all year round 🤟✊

Hi Awesome vegan customers, what a true pleasure it's been serving you over the past 9 months. I've loved it 💚

I'm moving aside as a director. I struggle with my mental health when we get really busy (but that's just the economics of a hospitality business) and I'm ok with that 😎 I need to protect my energy as I get older and look to enjoy semi retirement.

I may stay on as an occasional / casual staff / volunteer, if needed by any new business going forward..
