*Slight change of plan, Anchor Cafe will now be reopening on Wednesday the 14th Jan.*

Happy new year!!!*
❄️Due to weather and road conditions, we have decided to extend our break, and thus are still in Glasgow.

The over 60s afternoon tea will still be going ahead on Tuesday at 2pm, and normal business will resume the following day.

We look forwards to welcoming you all back.

No Joe again I’m afraid (poor joe 😢) so it’s a limited menu again.
I have my lovely parents coming in to lend a hand so please go easy on us! 💕

Unfortunately poor Joe is still not feeling too good so he will not be in today.

I am going to [try to] wing it myself today, so the cafe will be open from the slightly later time of 11 this morning.

Serving drinks, scones/cake, breakfast rolls and soup. Please bear with me 🐻

Unfortunately Joe is not feeling his best and a day of rest is definitely in order!

Anchor Cafe will be closed on Tuesdays for the foreseeable future.

The past few years have made it difficult for many independent cafe businesses to stay afloat and we are suffering in the same way. Currently, while the cafe is open 5 days a week, we are still working 6 of those days to keep up with preparation and maintenance as we do not have the finances for additional staff to allow us to do this during opening hours. We would like to have the occasional extra day off without the business struggling as a result. We are hoping the extra day will allow us the time and energy to adequately prepare for the days that are more consistently busy.

This will also allow us to take on outside catering requests without having to close the cafe to do so.

Over the next few weeks we will be implementing some changes to further allow us to continue to operate with such a small team, and provide the quality food offerings and service we are known and regarded for.

We will be providing updates in due course. Thank you for your continued support and cooperation during this time. ❤️
