We’re looking for a Café Assistant to join the Haven Centre team 🧡

Based in our community café in Smithton, this role is about more than just serving coffee. It’s about creating a welcoming space for families, visitors and the wider community, while supporting a café that helps fund vital work across the Highlands.

Part-time (15 hours per week, with additional hours available)

The Haven Centre Café sits right at the heart of our building, and for many people it’s their first glimpse of what the Haven Centre is all about 🫶

It’s a place for coffee, conversation and connection. A space where families, carers, volunteers and the local community can come together and feel welcome.

And every coffee or slice of cake helps support the wider work of the Haven Centre.

We’re hiring a Café Manager at The Haven Cafe, Inverness.

This isn’t just about running a café. It’s about creating a welcoming space at The Haven Centre where people feel comfortable, included, and part of something bigger. A place where quality food, a warm environment, and meaningful opportunities for young people with additional support needs come together.

You’ll lead the day-to-day operations, support and mentor volunteers, and help shape a café that brings people together.

If you’ve got experience in café or hospitality management, and you care about creating spaces that genuinely support people, we’d love to hear from you.

Salary: £28,000–£32,000
Contract: Permanent, 37.5 hours per week

Do you have a few spare hours a week and looking to fill them?
We are welcoming volunteers to help us in our lovely cafe at The Haven Centre.

Experience would be great but more important than that is a smiley ☺️ and willing to learn.

We are a great wee team and the customers are 👌!

Stunning views 👏 and 😋 food.

Don't be scared of the coffee machine. It's easy to learn and very satisfying when you master the perfect latte ☕️.

If you're curious 🤔 but not sure, get in touch and we can have a chat.

As a volunteer we create a schedule that works for you. Yes, we like routine and some commitment but we understand how valuable your time is.

🥤We are Hiring a

Cafe Assistant, part time (15 hrs a week)

We are looking for a part time cafe assistant to work alongside our Cafe Manager, sharing responsibility and deputising in their absence.

The role requires some catering experience and understanding of food and hygiene. Full training off all aspects of the day to day operations will be given.

We are looking for a good communicator, flexible, friendly and ready to support our fantastic team of volunteers.

The Haven Cafe supports the wider work of the centre to assist families with disabilities.
