👩‍🍳 MEET OUR KITCHEN TEAM – TINA

Meet Tina, our Head Chef here at Merriments!

Tina’s career actually began at Barclays before she left to have her twin boys. Her journey into the food industry started at a local pub, where she worked as a manager and helped build up the pub’s kitchen.

🍽️ From there, Tina moved into school catering, progressing to Area Manager, before swapping schools for the seaside and joining a lively beachside cafe.

Her next chapter brought her to Merriments, where she is now our Head Chef, leading the kitchen team and helping create the delicious breakfasts and lunches served in our cafe.

🌿 When she’s not in the kitchen at work, Tina enjoys gardening, yoga and of course, cooking!

🍂 Merriments Autumn Open Day – Saturday 10th October

As the days get shorter and Autumn settles in, it can be easy to spend more time indoors and feel a little disconnected. Our Autumn Open Day is an opportunity to get outside, embrace nature and spend time around others who share an interest in gardens and the outdoors.

Whether you’re visiting with friends and family or coming along on your own, everyone is welcome. Join one of our guided tours, explore at your own pace, stop for something to eat in the cafe and enjoy a relaxed Autumn day at Merriments.

As the weather starts to change and Autumn settles in, it’s the perfect time of year for a comforting Sunday Roast.

Think delicious roast beef or chicken, crispy roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables and all the trimmings, served in the cosy surroundings of Merriments Cafe. Vegetarian and vegan option available.

A little while ago, our Conservatory Cafe hosted a private event, and our team put together this fantastic buffet for the occasion.

From smaller gatherings to special celebrations, we’re always happy to discuss individual requirements and tailor the catering to suit your event.

🍂 Our gardeners are always looking for ways to support the wildlife that makes its home at Merriments.

⭐ A dedicated wildlife habitat area has now been created within the gardens, providing valuable resources for insects, birds and small mammals, including voles and field mice.

It’s part of our gardeners’ wider approach to working with nature and making sure the gardens provide a welcoming environment for wildlife as well as our visitors.

✨Elsewhere, September is bringing changing colours across the gardens, with the lilies also putting on a lovely display.

Another reason to take your time and notice the smaller details on your next visit.

If you have any questions during your visit, our gardeners are always happy to chat with visitors. You’ll find them working throughout the gardens, so feel free to stop and have a chat.

🎄✨ Your Christmas get-together starts here.

Whether it’s a long-overdue catch-up with friends, a family Christmas lunch or a festive meal with colleagues, join us at Merriments for great food and time together this Christmas.

✨ Our Christmas Menu will be served from 13th November to 23rd December, with a choice of seasonal favourites.

Start with dishes including chicken liver pâté, prawn cocktail or warming parsnip soup, followed by traditional roast turkey with all the trimmings, salmon en croûte or our vegan mushroom, cranberry & chestnut Wellington.

✨ 2 courses – £28 per person
✨ 3 courses – £33.50 per person

Prefer to celebrate in the evening? We’ll also be opening especially for Christmas dining on:
