A pub is never just a pub. A restaurant is never just a restaurant.
They’re where birthdays are celebrated, friendships are built, families gather, first dates happen, quiz teams compete, and communities come together.
Across our venues we’re proud to employ more than 100 people and play a small part in the towns and villages we call home.
But hospitality is under enormous pressure.
The UK hospitality sector currently pays a 20% VAT rate — one of the highest in Europe. In France, Spain and Italy, it’s 10%. In Germany, it’s even lower.
Reducing hospitality VAT to 10% would help protect jobs, support independent businesses, strengthen local high streets and help ensure the places we all value can continue to thrive.
This isn’t just about pubs, restaurants and bars. It’s about the people who work in them, the communities they support, and the moments that happen within their walls every day.
