A slightly different weekend at Tailor's this week!

For once, you'll find me on the other side of the bar on Friday as I kick off a weekend of birthday celebrations 🎉🍻

While I'm taking a break from pulling pints, Cath will be holding the fort behind the bar on both Friday and Saturday.

I'll be back in my usual spot on Sunday after Picnic in the Park, ready for a catch up 😊

A quick reminder too that from Monday 22nd June, Tailor's will also be open on Monday evenings, the usual hours of 5pm until 11pm.

Now for the important stuff.... beer news! 🍺

Making a welcome return this weekend is Old Mill's Old Curiosity Bitter, alongside Trilogy Blonde from Three Brothers and Great Newsome's Frothingham Best Bitter.

The usual favourites remain on the T-bar, the fridges and snacks are fully stocked.

📢 Important Tailor's News...

After listening to your feedback (nagging) and giving it some careful consideration (looking at the bills), I've come to the conclusion that weekends simply just aren't long enough!

So, from Monday 22nd June, Tailor's will once again be opening 5pm til 11pm on Monday evenings! 🍻

Hopefully that's news you'll all be pleased to hear.... although some of you may have already exceeded your recommended weekly allowance of Sam 🤷‍♀️🤣

And while we're on the subject of important announcements...

🏆 Team Real Ale stormed to victory this weekend, finishing a full 6 pints ahead of Team Lager. A convincing win that will no doubt be mentioned once or twice by the ale drinkers over the coming week 😉

🧶 Craft Club is now every other Wednesday, 5pm until 8pm from Wednesday 17th June. A friendly group of crafters who bring along their own projects and have a good catch-up. Either with a cuppa or an alcoholic beverage. New faces are always welcome, whether you're an experienced crafter or just fancy some company and giving it a go.

Last weekend's Beer-Off saw Team T-Bar come out on top, beating Team Real Ale by a whole 11 pints. The pressure is now on the ale drinkers to mount a comeback!

This weekend's cask line-up starts with:

🍺 Traditional Bitter – Old Mill Brewery
🍺 Ruby Mild – Rudgate Brewery

🍻 Almost the Weekend... and the pub is ready! 🍻

It's been a busy week, but the cellar's stocked, the pumps are polished, and we're ready to throw the doors open for another weekend at Tailor's.

Last weekend's Beer-Off was a close-run thing, with Team Real Ale scraping victory by a mighty 2½ pints. Not exactly a landslide, but a win's a win...

This weekend's ale line-up starts with:
🍺 Old Mill Blonde – 4.0%
🍺 Great Newsome Frothingham Best Bitter – 4.3%
🍺 Yorkshire Heart Blackheart Stout – 4.8%

And, as always, there's a great selection waiting in the wings.

Meanwhile, the usual suspects continue to occupy the T-bar:
🍏 Aspall Cyder – 4.5%
🍺 Jaipur IPA – 5.9%
🍺 Pravha Pilsner – 4.0%
🍺 Veltins Pilsner – 4.8%

So, the question is...
Will Team Real Ale build on last week's slender victory, or will Team T-Bar mount a serious challenge?

Firstly, apologies again for having to close unexpectedly last night.

The good news is we're open as usual this evening, the air-con is behaving itself, the drinks are cold, and normal service has resumed...although "normal" is perhaps open to interpretation 🤔🤣

Thank you all for your patience, understanding and for helping spread the word. If you know anyone who isn't on Facebook, we'd really appreciate you letting them know we're back open tonight.

Well what a gloriously sunny week it's been! ☀️
And it looks like the sunshine is sticking around for the weekend too... just at slightly more survivable temperatures... so very thankful for the aircon unit 😅

So, kicking off the Beer-off this weekend we’ve got:
🍺 Jorvik Blonde from Rudgate
🍺 Traditional Bitter from Old Mill
🍺 Black Heart Stout from Yorkshire Heart

The t-bar is fully loaded with the usual suspects, the fridges are stocked, and the bottles are replenished ready for the weekend ahead 🍻

I should hopefully be ready to open at 5pm as usual, although Jen has a late afternoon appointment, so please bear with me if I’m a few minutes behind today 🙂

Well it’s been an absolute scorcher today... far too hot for the Bogdog and the Sproglet 🥵😎
Both have needed a little assistance in keeping cool today 💦🐶🤣

With the glorious weather we’ve had over the bank holiday weekend, I suppose it’s no real surprise that Team T-Bar have taken the win this time 🍻

That said, Team Real Ale only missed out by 5 pints at close of play... a surprisingly close battle in the end 👀🍺
