Life at The Flamingo’s Teapot is going to be a little bit different for a while… 🦩🚌

As you all know, the big wide web tells you I open at 10am.

In reality, I’m usually there from about 8am and my general rule has always been if I’m there, I’m open 😂

However, after the other day’s events, I am currently car-less and learning the joys of getting to work by bus 😭🚌

So for a little while, my unofficial opening times might be slightly different depending on whether public transport and I are getting along that morning 😂

BUT… I do have 4 freshly baked cinnamon rolls sitting on the counter today, so hopefully that makes up for it.

And joining them are:

🍮 Sticky Toffee Pudding — AGAIN, because you lot absolutely demolished it
🥥 Cherry & Coconut Cake
🍋 Lemon Drizzle
🍫 Twix Brownie
🤫 And somewhere hiding in the back… a Gingerbread Caramel Slice. I just need to actually make the caramel 😂

PLUS this week’s specials:

🍛 Butter Chicken & Cheese
🍋 Lemon Curd & Raspberry Brioche Toastie — homemade lemon curd, obviously 😉
🍠 Sweet Potato & Red Lentil Soup

So yes… temporarily car-less, navigating buses and possibly turning up at slightly questionable times…

But there WILL be cake. 🦩😂

I’m not quite with it this morning, so bear with me 😂

We had a bit of an accident with the car yesterday, so things have been slightly more chaotic than usual… which, considering it’s us, is saying something 🙈

BUT we’re here, we’re open, and first things first…

🍋 LEMON CURD & RASPBERRY SWEET TOASTIE We’re trying something a little different this week! Homemade brioche filled with homemade lemon curd, raspberry coulis & fresh raspberries, lightly toasted and served with fresh fruit & whipped cream.

🥣 SWEET POTATO & RED LENTIL SOUP For our diehard soup requesters who refuse to accept that soup season has rules 😂

So yes…

⚠️ CARD MACHINE TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES ⚠️

Well… this is slightly awkward 😬

We’ve only just realised that we’ve had a problem with our card machine this morning and around 5 tables have had their card payments not actually go through — even though at the time we thought everything was fine. 🙈

If you’ve been in The Flamingo’s Teapot this morning and paid by card, could you please have a quick check and get in touch with us if your payment hasn’t left your account?

We’re really sorry — we genuinely had no idea until we spotted it just now.

🎃 Well… here we go again. 👻

Every year Halloween Afternoon Tea rolls around and I have that little moment of…
“Oh God. Why have I agreed to this again?” 😂

Not because I don't love doing it — I absolutely do. And I know how much you lot love it too. 🖤

It's just that somewhere between filling skulls with brains, making tiny mummies, decorating absolutely everything that stays still long enough and generally turning the Teapot into Halloween… I remember just how much work goes into the bloody thing. 🤣

But I wouldn't have it any other way. 🎃
