Fans of Last of the Summer Wine have something special to look forward to, as the beloved BBC sitcom is set to be celebrated in a brand-new retrospective documentary.
The Last Drop of Summer Wine, hosted by Brian Conley, will revisit the iconic Yorkshire locations that became a tourist attraction in their own right. The programme will also feature stories from the families of cast members, local residents and those closely connected to the long-running series.
Sir Roy Clarke, the show's legendary creator, has contributed new reflections for the tribute. He said: "It's been a pleasure to work on this one. We've squeezed all the juice that we can with love and affection. I've enjoyed this wander down memory lane as I hope the viewers will."
Conley added: "I am delighted to be hosting this look back at the longest running TV sitcom in the world. Getting the chance to share all the amazing stories, the fun, the laughter, and above all the love, was a real honour."
The documentary will also showcase rare photos, scripts and behind-the-scenes treasures from Sir Roy Clarke's personal archives and the families of the cast and crew.
The Last Drop of Summer Wine is due to air on U&Gold in 2027.
