You just can’t beat Hitchin in the sunshine can you?! The whole town just feels alive and happy! We love to see it.

The terrace is open all weekend, and we’ve got some lovely spring specials for you 🌱

A Los Reyes menu classic makes a return - delicately spiced white crab seasoned with chilli and lemon zest, finished with brown crab aioli and served on pan de cristal toast. A perfect light bite, and pairs beautifully with a crisp, slightly salty glass of Albariño.

Courgette and tarragon croquetas with jalapeño cheese fondue, and seasonal English asparagus with chorizo hollandaise complete the specials line up for this week.

Here’s our spanish take on a classic pairing - grilled asparagus stems served with crispy Jamon Iberico and a poached duck egg. Seasonal, smokey, rich (and 1 of your 5 a day!).

This weeks lineup of specials is a special one, as it’s our sous chef Phil’s last week in our kitchen; so he’s created a list of a few of his favourites from his time with us to go out on a delicious bang 💥

First, this weeks croquettes - rich tomato and oregano croquettes served with a buttery chive emulsion 🍅🌿

Our scallops - large pan seared scallops paired with mojo rojo, charred sweetcorn and fried basil 🌽🌶️

Bringing back a fan favourite with our fish special - ‘Mejillones Tigre’ flavour packed mussel béchamel, stuffed back into their shells and fried until golden, served with a tomato and anchovy dressing 🦪🧅🥘

And lastly our vegetable offering - paprika and garlic roasted cauliflower florets, our famous ajo blanco, and finished with toasted almonds 🧄

Come get ‘em while they’re hot 🥂

With spring in full swing and the sun finally shining, we thought we’d put something a little summery on the specials board this week. This is our grilled courgette served with a zingy hazelnut and chili honey dressing. Simple ingredients paired beautifully 🌶️🥒🌰
