There is a lot of work that happens to keep a 100 year old building up to date and a working community space!
INVESTING IN OUR FUTURE
A 100-year-old building takes some looking after.
Over the last few years, we’ve been investing in the Club so it can continue to serve Hindhead and Beacon Hill for many years to come.
Our solar panels are already helping to cut our electricity costs by around 30–35%, and we’ve installed a new boiler. But there’s still plenty more we want (and need) to do.
At some stage, the Club’s ageing pipework will need replacing, a project likely to cost around £30,000. We’d also like to give the hall a freshen-up, paint the outside of the Club, improve the bar and continue looking after a building that has been part of our community for generations.
We’ll continue looking for grants and other funding wherever we can. But having a strong membership matters too. It shows that this isn’t simply an old building; it’s a building with an active community behind it.
So whether you visit every week or only occasionally, your membership plays a part in keeping the Club moving forward.
