We're still open!

There is a road closure on Leicester Road, meaning there is no direct access from Hinckley via Leicester Road, however you can access us from the other side of Leicester Road, towards Barwell/ Earl Shilton. Burbage Common Road is also open for you to come and visit us. Severn Trent has made us aware that Leicester Road should be clear at some point tomorrow. We are still here to welcome you all and are serving as normal.

Always a pleasure to welcome the weekly Walking for Health Group, thank you to everyone who has supported us on our new venture so far 🫶🏻 ☕️ 🌳

Every Wednesday morning, the Walking for Health Group, organised by our team from Active Hinckley & Bosworth, meets at Burbage Common to enjoy a walk together through the beautiful countryside.

After returning at midday, the group is always warmly welcomed by the friendly team at Acorns Coffee Shop, where tea and biscuits – and plenty of chat – are enjoyed in the outdoor seating area.

For many years, the café has been run by Helen and Adam Kirkaldy, who have supported the group throughout. As they now retire to enjoy a new chapter, the walkers recently presented them with a gift of wine and flowers to thank them for their continued kindness and support.

The good news is that the relationship will continue, as a new, enthusiastic duo – Naomi Jones and James Smyth – have taken over the café. We’re delighted to welcome them and look forward to many more Wednesday walks ending with a cuppa.

Well that’s a wrap from us !!

Today was our final shift at the helm.
Wow !! What a journey we have had……taking Acorns from zero to what it is today!

Acorns has faced many challenges, COVID, Weather, Brexit, Cost of living crisis, Rising inflation, Hottest summer on record, One of the wettest winters ever……and through grit, determination, and the support of our loyal customers we’ve come through the other side.

The last few days have been a couldren of emotions, sadness, trepidation, doubt, anxiety, relief, worry, but the overwhelming emotion…..pride !!
Pride in the legacy we leave behind !
Pride in the team who have supported us along this journey !
Pride in the friends we have made along the way !
Pride in the brand Acorns !
And the utmost pride in each other !! It’s not always been easy , in fact it’s been extremely hard at times…..but we walk away with our marriage still in tact, and still the best of friends !❤️

Tomorrow we hand the keys over to the new team Naomi & James, they come with new energy, new personalities, new skills & new visions, and we’re sure they’ll do a great job taking Acorns on its next journey. So please continue to support them.

So with a very heavy heart we say our final goodbye, but not before we thank you all for your loyalty, support and friendship, and wish you all the very best for the future.

Thank you all from the bottoms of our hearts for last night.🥰
So many friends , customers (who are definitely friends), family, & team members (past & present) who celebrated our upcoming retirement and gave us such an amazing send off. 🥳🎉
The love, warmth , well wishes and gifts lifted the roof off the building. It was certainly a night to remember (unfortunately we were too busy to capture many photos).😍
We cannot thank you enough for all the support over the past 12 years, it’s been quite a journey, with many of you right by our sides.
We’ve not done our last shift yet, so we’ll still be around…..please pop down and say goodbye ……though we’re not moving out of town , so we’ll see most of you around, just on the other side of the counter.
