☕️ STAFF NEEDED AT SALUTE 🇮🇹❤️

Hi everyone! We’re looking for someone lovely to join our little team at Salute in the centre of Hexham.

We’re after someone who has had a bit of experience working in a café (or something similar), and ideally has some experience making coffees on a coffee machine. We’re looking for around 20 hours a week, with a mixture of weekdays and weekends.

We’re a small team, so finding the right person is really important to us. Someone friendly, reliable and who enjoys being around people — but also someone who is keen to learn.

And if you don’t already know Paolo… you’re in for a treat! 😂❤️ He’s at the heart of Salute and is genuinely one of the best teachers. He absolutely loves sharing his knowledge, so there’ll be plenty of opportunity to learn more about Sardinian food, the recipes, the traditions and even how to cook some of his dishes. 🇮🇹🍝

We’re hoping to find someone to start pretty much straight away, with the hours likely to increase once the summer holidays are over.

The current hours could work really well for someone who needs a bit of flexibility around school and family life, but we’re open to hearing from anyone who thinks they’d be a good fit for us.

🎉 Happy Birthday to our wonderful Paolo Pani!🎉

Today we’re celebrating the man behind Salute, who has dedicated so many years to sharing his passion for authentic Italian food with the North East.

Paolo has served thousands of customers over the years, creating not just delicious meals, but memories around the table. His hard work, talent, and dedication have made him a much-loved face in our community, and we couldn’t be prouder to celebrate him today.

For once, Paolo is enjoying a well-deserved day off (and we think he’s earned it! 🇮🇹🥳).

Don’t worry though – Salute is still open until 3pm today, serving all your favourites including freshly made coffee, sandwiches, light bites, and plenty of delicious cake.

Join us this Bank Holiday weekend for a light bite, a refreshing drink, and a little Sardinian sunshine in our beautiful sunny courtyard ☀️🍷🍴

After an exceptionally busy and sunny period, our wonderful team have worked incredibly hard, so we’ll be closing at 3pm both today and tomorrow to give our staff some well-earned time to rest and recharge. Ciao amici, just a little note for the Easter weekend…

⭐ Good Friday – closing at 3pm
⭐ Saturday - open as usual ☕️
⭐ Sunday and Monday - closed for Easter
⭐ Tuesday - back to our normal hours

In Italy, Easter is a big celebration, and one of the sweetest traditions is enjoying a slice of Colomba di Pasqua 🕊️ – a soft, dove-shaped cake symbolising peace and renewal.

We still have our Colomba in stock, perfect to enjoy at home with a coffee (or a little something sparkling… 🥂)

🌺 Spring has arrived at Salute! 🌺

We’re delighted to share that our shelves are now stocked with authentic Sardinian and Italian Easter treats — including the classic Colomba, a beautifully soft, citrus-scented cake topped with almonds and sugar, just like you’d find in Italy this time of year.

And with the sun shining, our courtyard is the perfect place to slow down and savour it all. Join us for a coffee, something sweet, and a little taste of Sardinia right here at your table.
