This might be the most dangerous Belgian beer I’ve ever had.

Kasteel Rouge is **8% ABV**, bright ruby red with pink foam, and tastes like **cherries and Black Forest cake**.

It’s sweet, sour and ridiculously drinkable… which is exactly why it’s dangerous.

People see these little glasses and think they're being short-changed.
They're not. That's a Stange — 0.2 litres, and it's how Kölsch has always been served in Cologne. Small glass, drunk fast, replaced before it warms up. In Cologne the waiter just keeps bringing them until you put your beer mat on top of the glass.
Gaffel, Mühlen and Reissdorf. Three Kölsch, three Cologne breweries, one city. Ask a Kölner which is best and you'll get an argument.
