There’s a certain smell to autumn. Warm spices, freshly baked bread, something slowly cooking in the kitchen and that first excuse of the year to order another glass of red.

Autumn is our chefs’ favourite time of year, and you can taste why. The kitchen gets cosier, the flavours get deeper, and the menu becomes all about comfort, curiosity and making the most of the season.

A little taste of what’s been coming out of our kitchen lately:

— Beetroot & spiced almond tarte Tatin, cream cheese and dukkah
