I first posted this on the 2nd Feb, and July seemed such a long way away! It’s now almost here in fact 2 weeks today we’ll be heading on down to Newhaven to catch the ferry to our starting point in Dieppe. I am certainly fitter, more confident and less wobbly than I was and really looking forward to the ride.
*ROOF UPDATE* we’ve now had a further repair which unfortunately didn’t do the trick and another couple of quotes. We have decided to go with a roofer & thatcher team who are confident they can stop the leak once & for all! Fingers crossed for this. It will be booked in to be completed as soon as we have the funds, thanks to everyone who has donated so far! Your generosity really is overwhelming 😘
🚴♀️ Cycle to Paris for the Axe & Compass! 🇫🇷
We’re Emma & Stuart from the Axe & Compass, and this July we’re cycling 120 miles from Dieppe to Paris to raise funds for urgent roof repairs at the pub.
After a failed £3k repair, we now need £6–10k to replace part of the leaking roof.
We’re not exactly natural cyclists — but we are determined! Training starts now, with our first 42-mile ride in March.
