From rising fish prices and soaring energy costs to increasing wages, National Insurance contributions, and higher business rates, small hospitality businesses across the country are under enormous pressure.

At Sanders Fish & Chips, we’re proud to serve our local community, provide jobs, and continue a tradition that has been part of British life for generations. But many independent businesses are now fighting simply to survive.

That’s why we’re supporting the national “VAT’s The Problem” campaign alongside hospitality businesses across the UK, calling for a fairer VAT rate for our industry.

We’re not asking for special treatment – just a fair chance to continue doing what we love.

🚧 Roadworks Update – Access to the Sanders Pool Shop Remains Open 🚧

Please be aware that roadworks will be taking place on Agar Road from 7:00pm this evening.

✅ The shop will remain fully accessible.

If you’re travelling from the Redruth side, please follow the diversion route via Wilson Way to reach us.

✅ Access from the Camborne side is unaffected and remains open as normal.

The hospitality sector has come together to launch – a united campaign and petition calling for hospitality VAT to be reduced from 20% to 10%.

Spearheaded by chef and publican Tom Kerridge, we’re working alongside trade bodies across the sector, such as and , hospitality communities like , and you, businesses across hospitality, to say 10% VAT is fair for hospitality.

Our sector pays too much tax, and VAT is the single biggest lever the Government can pull to support venues, our customers, our high streets and our local communities.

This campaign is for everyone: businesses, customers, waiting staff, chefs, kitchen porters, bar staff, hotel teams, farmers, brewers, suppliers and producers.
