After what feels like a very long 18 months, we are so excited to finally say we are nearly ready to open.

The last year and a half since the café closed has certainly been a challenge, but to now be at the point where we can open the doors again and welcome everyone back is something we are incredibly excited about.

For us, this is about much more than simply reopening a café. Established in 1999, Café 81 has had quite the journey over the years.

From the early days when we were known as Lazy Days, to the Red CafĂ©, to eventually becoming the cafĂ© you know today, we’ve been through plenty of changes along the way. We’ve made memories, built friendships and become part of the local community.

We’ve even faced some pretty difficult times, including the fire that meant we had to start again but here we are, still going after all these years. And now, we’re ready to take on our next chapter

We’ve been working hard behind the scenes, making lots of changes and adding some exciting new touches, and we can’t wait for you to come through the doors, have a look around and see how much the cafĂ© has changed.

But don’t worry the old favourites are staying! đŸ„§

You’ll still find some of the classics you’ve always loved, including our pies, breakfasts and quiches, alongside some exciting new additions that we’re sure will become favourites of their own. And there’s even more


đŸ„– Fresh bread delivered daily from a local bakery. We’ll have fresh bread available to buy every day, including sourdough, bread cakes, fresh loaves and brioche and pastries.

You’ll also be able to place orders with us for fresh bread whenever you need it, so you can enjoy fresh bakery goods at home too.

We are incredibly excited to welcome everyone back, introduce you to the new Café 81 and start this next chapter together.

Our official opening date will be confirmed within the next week so keep your eyes peeled!

After 27 years of memories, changes, challenges and plenty of hard work we’re still here. We’re ready. And we can’t wait to see you again.
