Today was a day!! We did day 1 of our first ever pop up event for Rebel monkey at Harwich Triathlon,…. The day went like this…. Arrived on site at 5am, set up our coffee pop up, fired up the generator to run the coffee machine and it lasted about 5 minuets and kept cutting out…. This was a real squeaky bum time for all of us… we had invested a lot of time and money into this event and it was looking like it was going to be a complete disaster….. we were all trying to find a solution, on our phones, asking to borrow this that and another then…… Noah Sherring who have been a complete hero this week in more ways than 1… says “right clacton tool hire have a much bigger generator… we can pick it up now” so me and him jump in his van and headed off… just over a hour later we return with the mother of all generators… run it up and over the hill (with the help of Aaron) fire her up, and we are off… 10 minuets for the coffee machine to heat up and BOOM… we are in business… by 10:30 we were full steam ahead and supplying the good people with the best coffee!!
We gave out a total of 220 free bananas thanks to our fabulous monkeys Aaron Mills and Violet Mills who really went all out and had the best fun!!
Special shout out to Alfie Heath and Ruby Raffle who kept the orders flowing and the till ringing!
Now……. The main man of the business, our genius behind the coffee machine, the coffee guru himself.. Luke Gillett…. His hard work and planning really has made doing things like this seem easy (for me as the owner) but not for him!!! He really has been the mastermind behind the whole thing and for that I’m eternally grateful…
Tomorrow is day 2 of the event.. we have decided to close the coffee shop for the day to bring down so we have 2 masters of the machine….
We can’t wait for day 2 without the generator stress we had this morning… bring it in, up the monkeys!!
