❤️ Sometimes it’s the little moments that mean the most.

One of the highlights of this week wasn’t on stage or behind the bar… it was this.

Our wonderful regular, Alan, spent weeks secretly gathering photographs, memories and stories to create a ‘This Is Your Life’ book for our cleaner, Mandy, who has been part of the Gillen Arms family since 2008.

On Thursday, he surprised her with it, and it was such a lovely moment to witness.

It’s gestures like this that remind us that the Gillen Arms is so much more than four walls and a bar. It’s friendships, kindness and a community that genuinely looks after one another.

A huge thank you to Alan for the time, effort and thought that went into such a special gift, and thank you to Mandy for everything you’ve done for the Gillen Arms over the years.

These are the moments that make us proud to say we’re more than just a pub.

Last night was something really special. ❤️

A huge thank you to Llayton Glass and Mollie and the Merrymen for providing the soundtrack to an unforgettable evening. The atmosphere from start to finish was absolutely incredible, and we’re so grateful to both acts for giving up their time to help us celebrate.

Most importantly, thank you to every single one of you who came through the doors. Whether you were singing along, dancing, raising a glass, or simply enjoying the atmosphere with friends, you made the Gillen Arms’ 39th Birthday one to remember.

Seeing the pub full of familiar faces (and so many new), laughter and live music is exactly what the Gillen Arms is all about. It’s nights like these that remind us why we do what we do.

We’re proud to be more than just a pub – we’re a community.

Here’s a few highlights from an amazing night. Thank you all for your continued support, and here’s to many more fantastic nights together! 🍻🎶❤️

Today marks 39 years since the Gillen Arms first opened its doors, so we’re taking it right back to where it all began.

These brilliant photos were taken on opening day in 1987 — familiar faces, packed rooms and the start of nearly four decades of memories at the heart of our community.

A huge thank you to everyone who has worked here, drank here, celebrated here and supported the Gillen Arms over the years. You are all part of its story. ❤️
