Our w**e of the week this week is this beautiful number from Argentina and this one is a proper midweek crowd pleaser. It pours a bright, youthful red with a violet rim that catches the light, and the nose is all ripe plums and fresh cherries with a little pinch of spice sitting underneath. Nothing fancy going on, and that’s the point.

No oak here at all. The grapes are hand harvested, then cold fermented in stainless steel and left on the skins for around 14 days. You get a w**e that tastes like fruit rather than barrel: medium body, soft tannins and a finish that makes you reach for the bottle again.

Easy to drink, hard to put down.
