Choose a later wedding ceremony, with a golden-hour glow, and a party that runs straight into the night.

Our Twilight Weddings at Blackstock Country Estate are a lovely, relaxed alternative to a full day, with your ceremony starting from 4pm and the whole celebration flowing into the evening.

You will have the Tudor Barn and the grounds for the evening, the makeup room from 11am so there is no early rush, and a package that includes welcome drinks, canapés and a choice from our evening buffet. As the sun goes down, the barn glows with candles and string lights, and the celebrations carry on until 11pm.

It is a beautiful way to marry if you would like something shorter and more relaxed, and it starts from £5,450 for 2026.

Booking your venue does not make your wedding legal. Here is the bit couples often forget.

Once you have your date and venue, there is one more booking to make, and it is the one that actually makes your marriage legal. That is the registrar.

Our latest blog explains exactly how it works. In East Sussex, you book the registrars yourself through the East Sussex Registration Service, as the venue cannot do it for you. There are two parts to it, your notice of marriage, which you both give in person at a register office, and the registrars attending on the day itself.

At Blackstock Country Estate, East Sussex registrars carry out ceremonies in the Tudor Barn wing, or outdoors in the grounds between May and September. We will help you get your date confirmed with us first, so you can go ahead and book everything else.

Have a read of the full blog for the details, and when you are ready to talk dates, call us on 01323 848 006.

With some venues you just know the moment you walk in.

A viewing at Blackstock Country Estate is the best way to find out if this is the one, and booking one is simple, with no obligation at all.

One of our Wedding Coordinators will show you around at your own pace, the Tudor Barn where ceremonies are held, the courtyards, the Granary where the wedding breakfast is served, and the accommodation, all set within 70 acres of East Sussex countryside. You will get to ask every question on your list, and probably make friends with a few of our alpacas along the way.

There is no hard sell and no pressure, just a chance to stand in the barns and picture your own day.

Book your private viewing through the form on our website, or call the team on 01323 848 006. The sooner you visit, the more choice of dates you will have.

The best way to fall for a wedding venue is to spend a morning in it.

On Sunday 25th October, we are opening up the whole of Blackstock Country Estate for our Wedding Fair, from 10am to 2pm, and we would love you to come.

Wander through both barns, the Tudor Barn where ceremonies are held and the Granary where the wedding breakfast is served, and chat to the wonderful suppliers we work with time and time again, the people behind the flowers, the photography, the cakes, the entertainment and more. Our Wedding Coordinators will be on hand for any and every question, and you can look around our luxury accommodation while you are here.

Entry is free and there is parking on site. If our incredible sunsets make an appearance, you will see exactly why so many couples end up choosing this place.

Come and picture your own day here. Drop us a message to let us know you are coming, we cannot wait to meet you.

How are you getting ready on the morning of your wedding?

Bubbly, your favourite people, and a calm room all to yourselves before it all begins.

Our onsite bridal suite and makeup room at Blackstock Country Estate give you somewhere calm and private to get ready on the morning of your wedding, without a stressful drive across the county to a salon.

Gather your bridal party, have a glass of something fizzy and enjoy freshly baked pastries while everything is being set up. You can bring in your own hair and makeup artists, or do it all yourselves, and with soft lighting and comfortable seating, it is a relaxed, happy start to the day.

It is a lovely way to settle any nerves and spend a bit of calm time with your closest people before the ceremony.

Ask to see the bridal suite when you book your viewing, just drop us a line.

Sandstone underfoot, a vaulted ceiling above, and the Sussex countryside through a wall of glass.

That is the Granary at Blackstock Country Estate, our beautifully restored barn where the wedding breakfast is served. Its floor to ceiling glazed windows open right onto the landscaped courtyard, so your guests dine with the countryside in full view.

Overhead, antique cartwheel chandeliers hang from the exposed beams of the vaulted ceiling, and the natural sandstone floor keeps that restored barn character underfoot. It is a room that looks beautiful in daylight and even lovelier as the evening draws in.

Already planning to marry elsewhere? You can still celebrate here with our reception only option, which includes in-house catering, an open bar and the run of both barns and the grounds.

Want to see the Granary for yourself? Send us a message and we will arrange a viewing.

Looking for an all-inclusive wedding venue near Eastbourne? Try a few miles inland.

Plenty of couples start their venue search along the Eastbourne seafront and end up looking a few miles inland instead. Our latest blog explains why.

Blackstock Country Estate is an all-inclusive wedding venue just north of Hailsham at Hellingly, well under half an hour from Eastbourne with plenty of parking when you arrive. You get two restored barns, our own catering team and accommodation on site, plus 70 acres of meadows and lakes right outside for your photographs. One venue and one team, rather than a long list of suppliers to chase and get talking to each other.

The difference is the countryside. Open meadows, wild deer on the grounds and views across the South Downs, and you are still close enough that guests can get home the same evening if they would rather not stay over.

Read the full blog to see why couples make the move inland, then book a viewing when you would like to see it for yourself.

Twilight Weddings at Blackstock Estate - Picture saying your vows at 4pm, with the whole evening still ahead of you.

A Twilight Wedding at Blackstock Country Estate begins later in the day, with your ceremony from 4pm and the celebrations carrying straight on into the evening. Guests arrive together for the whole thing, so there is no long afternoon gap, just a relaxed run through vows, drinks, dinner and dancing.

You have the Tudor Barn and the grounds for the whole evening, and the makeup room is yours from 11am to get ready on site. The package includes welcome drinks, canapés and a choice from our evening buffet. As the light fades, many couples fill the barn with string lights and candles for a warm, cosy glow, and you are still celebrating right through to 11pm.

It is a lovely option for a shorter, more relaxed day, and it starts from £5,450 for 2026.

Ask us about our Twilight Weddings, or give the team a call on 01323 848 006.

One team, one kitchen, and a menu built entirely around you.

At Blackstock Country Estate, your wedding catering is handled by our own in-house team, so there is no outside caterer to book or brief. We sit down with you to plan a menu around your tastes and your budget.

That might be a three or four course wedding breakfast, a whole Sussex roast pig, a summer BBQ or a ch*****ne afternoon tea, with relaxed evening food like a hog roast, a burger stall or a fajita bar. We use locally sourced ingredients where we can, and we happily cater for vegetarian, vegan and other dietary needs.

Before the day, you come in for a tasting to try your choices and settle the final details.

Ask about our menus and book in a tasting when you come to visit.

Imagine this being the place you say I do.

Beyond the barns at Blackstock Country Estate lie 70 acres of private grounds, yours to explore for the whole day. There are two lakes to walk down to, a scented wedding garden, and quiet corners to slip away to when you want a moment to yourselves.

It is a big estate, so there is even a golf buggy on hand to reach the lakes and the far corners for photographs, weather permitting. Wherever you wander, the countryside does the decorating for you.

This could be the setting for your whole wedding day. Come and walk the grounds for yourself, call 01323 848 006 to book a viewing.
