With a very heavy heart, we have some sad news to share. ❤️

After 20 wonderful years, Café Balfé will be closing its doors for the final time this Thursday.

With the ongoing regeneration works on West Blackhall Street, along with rising costs, we have made the incredibly difficult decision to bring our journey to an end.

We would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to all of our wonderful customers, both past and present, who have supported us throughout the last 20 years. We have so many amazing memories, and Café Balfé simply wouldn’t have been what it was without each and every one of you.

We would also like to give a special thank you to all of our staff, past and present. Your hard work, dedication and friendship have meant so much to us, and Café Balfé wouldn’t have been the same without you.

If you have any unused vouchers, we would love for you to pop in and use them over our final few days.

Please come and see us, say goodbye and share one last coffee, cake or chat with us before we close. It’s going to be a very emotional few days, but we would love to see as many familiar faces as possible. ❤️

We are delighted to let you know we have teamed up with Three Sisters Bakes to stock their delicious cakes.

They have not to be missed, no January diets for us at Café Balfé.

We would like to wish all our customers a Happy New Year and look forward to seeing you all in 2026. Thankyou for your continued support and custom in 2025.

We will have new winter opening hours with shorter days Monday-Wednesday, this will be reviewed in spring time.

Less than 24 hours to go until the Greenock Festive Fun Day comes to West Blackhall Street! ☃️

Join us for a jolly afternoon, surrounded by music performances from the likes of Theatre School of Scotland and May Hughes School of Dance. Enjoy walkabout street acts from magical characters including Circus Elves and Raymond the Reindeer, plus festive DJ music by Clyde Coast Radio.

Santa Claus has even taken the time out of his busy schedule to join in on the festivities – so have your Christmas wish lists at the ready 🎅

Today marks a very special milestone — 20 years of serving coffee, food, and community. From our very first day to now, every smile, every conversation, and every shared moment has helped shape Café Balfé into what it is.

Good morning, Café Balfé is open 7 days per week serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Monday-Thursday serving food from 10am-7pm
Friday & Saturday serving food from 10am-8pm
Sunday serving food 12pm-7pm including an all day breakfast and Sunday roast.
