Corse Lawn House Hotel is an elegant Queen Anne Grade II listed building, surrounded by twelve acres of its own gardens and fields. The house has belonged to the Hine family (of Cognac fame) since 1978, and during that time has been carefully extended, refurbished and restored to create a stunningly attractive Country House Hotel with 19 beautiful bedrooms. Corse Lawn Hotel is a relaxing house to

visit, wonderfully placed for the Cotswolds, Malverns and Forest of Dean but within 20 minutes drive of Gloucester, Cheltenham and Worcester, only 6 miles from the M5 and M50 and yet in a completely unspoilt backwater of Gloucestershire.

Would you ever have guessed our pond was once used as a coach wash?

Back in the mid-1700s, Corse Lawn House began as a traditional coaching inn on the busy London to Cardiff road.

The pond in front of our Grade II-listed Queen Anne house wasn't just there for show. It was purposefully built so a stagecoach and its four horses could be driven straight into the water, washed, and turned around before continuing their journey.

Today, it's home to carp, moorhens, ducks and geese, so it's hard to picture its original purpose. 🦆

But for us, and for many guests who enjoy discovering the local Cotswold history, it's a lovely reminder of the stories that have shaped Corse Lawn House over the centuries.

Now, instead of horses splashing through, guests can sit by the water with a drink in hand and have a bite of lunch or an afternoon tea, watching the wildlife enjoy the pond just as much as they do. While the coaches are long gone, the pond remains one of the most peaceful spots at the heart of the house.
