Saturday: Cold Spring presents: T.A.G.C (Clock DVA) / SATØRI / COLOSSLOTH / LLYN Y CWN

Adi Newton uses T.A.G.C. (The Anti-Group) as an outlet for his research in psycho-acoustic music, with carefully constructed aural rituals. He is also the driving force behind Clock DVA , The Future (pre-Human League) and a key figure in the development of electronic, industrial and experimental music starting in the late 1970s.

Industrial veterans SATØRI formed in 1984. Representing industrial music culture in its absolute form, Satori explore cinematic soundscapes, a mixture of harsh noise and power electronics

Leicestershire's Colossloth makes psychogeographic maladies and invocations, alternating between the brooding and abrasive. From industrial and ethnic tribalism to the bastard ghosts of rave, its spirit can be found crucified in between the anode and cathode of occult circuitry.

Llyn Y Cwn conveys atmosphere and environment through deep ambient sounds, reflecting the bleak majesty and poetic melancholy of the hinterland of North Wales.

Thursday: The Black Circle present: KULK + IAN

'KULK is simultaneously an exploration into human suffering and an extension of our own relationship. Kulk reflects exactly what heavy music is: aggressive and brutal yet ultimately made out of love for the ones around us.'

Kulk have played amongst bands such as Part Chimp, Hey Colossus, Big Brave, Gnoomes, and Portrayal of Guilt. Also touring twice with PigsX7, including shows at Electric Ballroom and Rock City.

IAN (the band) are refreshing newcomers in the UK’s heavy underground. A labour of love between five old friends and ex-bandmates from Exeter’s fertile early ’00s DIY punk scene. Self-described as “a band that appreciates the peaks and troughs of post-rock as much as the crunch of the riff,” IAN’s striking debut delivers five dirges that merge earth swallowing riffs with the atmospheres and dynamics of their post-rock heroes, such as Godspeed You! Black Emperor, with the bite and visceral heft of Cult Of Luna and Amenra.

Composed of Bonnie Schwarz (cello + vocals); Pete Shaw (accordion + synth) and Jenny Walinetski (drums) the group mix revved-up virtuosity and harmony with vivid storytelling, drawing on their diverse musical tastes and weaving them into an action-packed narrative of genre-bending folky goodness. The recent addition of Jenny brings a high-energy, full-band sound, pushing their indie-folk fusion into dynamic new territory. The new evolution will see them perform at Greenman, Kendal Calling, Greenbelt, Folk East and they look forward to future release projects.

Sunday: Glossop Cinema Club - Escape From New York / LA

Kurt Russell plays the iconic dry-witted anti-hero Snake Plissken in John Carpenter's darkly comic action films shown back-to-back.

It's a double anniversary, 45 years of Escape From New York, 30 years of Escape From LA, so what better than to watch them both! Whilst the original is regarded as a cult classic, the sequel has had a more mixed response! Make your own mind up with this double-whammy of off-beat sci-fi action laced with a streak of dark satire.

Between the two films there'll be an interval, alongside the usual Glossop Cinema Club intro and shenanigans.

Saturday: VG++ Special - DJ Old Rat (On The Wire)

Steve Barker, also known as DJ Old Rat (DJ Lao Lao Shu), is a legendary British music journalist, broadcaster and DJ. He is best known as the creator and host of On the Wire, the UK's longest-running continuous alternative and underground music radio show. Also he writes the monthly dub/reggae column for The Wire magazine.

Expect reggae, dub, dancehall, jungle, global, electronic and a lot more, all played on vinyl!
