💗 After 13 amazing years, Amy’s Creative Cakes is closing up shop. 💗
This is honestly one of the hardest posts I’ve ever had to write.
After 13 amazing years, I’ve made the incredibly difficult decision to close Amy’s Creative Cakes. There are a number of reasons behind this decision, but unfortunately the biggest one is the ongoing issues with our shop premises.
For the last 3 months, the shop has been dealing with serious flooding due to problems with the roof. The entire back roof, both inside and outside, now needs replaced along with the walls & flooring and, despite everyone’s efforts, we still have no resolution or guaranteed timeframe for when the work will be completed.
Our landlord has done everything he can to try and get things moving, but unfortunately dealing with the factors has been incredibly difficult, with things being passed from pillar to post. With no end in sight, the shop is simply becoming impossible for us to continue working from.
I’ve spent the last several months looking for another suitable unit, hoping that we could simply relocate and carry on, but sadly there is just nothing available that would work for us.
So, as much as it absolutely breaks my heart, I feel that closing the shop is the right thing to do. 💔
📅 Our last day of trading will be Saturday 31st October 2026.
Please don’t worry if you already have an order booked with us before then — ALL orders booked up to and including 31st October are absolutely going ahead as normal. 🎂💗
If you had a cake booked for a date after 31st October, you will already have been contacted and notified.
Amy’s Creative Cakes has been such a huge part of my life for the last 13 years. What started as a little dream became my business, my livelihood and such a massive part of our family’s life.
I can’t even begin to count the thousands of cakes, cupcakes and treats that have left our doors over the years. We’ve been trusted with birthdays, weddings, christenings, communions, baby showers, anniversaries and so many other special occasions — and I will forever be grateful to every single person who chose Amy’s Creative Cakes to be a small part of those memories. 🎂💗
And I couldn’t write this post without giving a very special mention to Julie. 💕
For the last 6 years, Julie has worked her butt off in the shop and has been such a huge part of Amy’s Creative Cakes. I genuinely couldn’t have asked for anyone better to have by my side through some of our busiest, craziest and most stressful times!
I’m so incredibly grateful that this little cake shop brought Julie into my life, and even more grateful for everything she has done for me and the business over the years. Thank you, Julie. 💗
To everyone who has supported us over the last 13 years — whether you ordered one cake or came back year after year — thank you from the bottom of my heart. Without all of you, Amy’s Creative Cakes would never have become what it did.
It’s definitely the end of an era, and not at all the way I imagined it ending, but sometimes circumstances make the decision for you.
We still have almost two months left, so we’re not quite finished yet! 🥰 We’ll be here doing what we do best, making all your cakes and treats right up until our final day.
