Max’s Bar & Grill opened in 2010 and since then our aim has been to provide a friendly environment for people to enjoy fresh, locally sourced and home-made food along with an excellent selection of beverages. We constantly have 16 draught options as well as a wide array of bottled beers and ciders from well respected brewers including; Williams Brothers, West Brewery, Fürstenberg and Weihenstephan to name just a few. To add to this we have a choice of over 100 premium spirits and our gantry is one of the best stocked in the city, offering you a great choice. We offer quality house spirits too which are a very respectable £2.50 each including mixer. We offer over 30 cocktail options covering an array of recognisable classics as well as a variety of cocktails with a modern twist. On top of that we have many shooters for you to try including the popular Tequila Verdita. We have an excellent selection of quality White, Red and Rose wines as well as Prosecco that will satisfy your palate as well as your bank balance. If an alcoholic drink is not what you crave we also offer a selection of fresh juices, non-alcoholic cocktails, a range of teas and coffees as well as fresh fruit smoothies that can be made gluten free should you require. We are open 12pm till 3am every night seven days a week and the bar is soundtracked by some of Glasgow’s best DJ’s all weekend and regularly during the week.

We’re really going to miss you, Reggie.

He was here every day, sniffing about, saying hello to everyone, keeping an eye on the team and regulars, and making his way into lots of our videos.

He was loved by all, and it’s going to feel very strange not having him around.

Thank you for all the memories. You’ll be missed more than you know big guy.

The Art Deco facade of what is now Max's Bar on Queen Street in Glasgow. However, for those of a certian age it will be instantly recognisable as the Rock Garden (or latterly RG), a legendary establishment of the 1980s and 1990s. However, its history goes back much further than this, with the building itself being constructed in the 1830s, and a licenced premises being present since 1845. Back then, it was a restaurant known as Lang's, named after William Lang, that was renowned for its good quality food and drink. Lang apparently also introduced Glasgow to the then-revolutionary concept of paying after you'd eaten your meal, and not before as was the general rule at the time.
