Even by our own standard we’ve had amazing weekend in here with immense DJ sets from thee awesome Hubey and Divine! in the bar as well as A Deeper Groove tearing the roof off the acid arch last night, but it’s not over yet. Oh, no. Definitely not. Why? Because the professional Monday saboteurs that are the Let’s Go Back crew are back in tonight to help us all rip the arse out another weekend with their infamous Sunday Soundclash Rave.

As ever, the lads will be digging deep into their collections and cranking out a soundtrack of anything and everything, from old-school hip hop, rave and house, through dub, breaks and more, right up to the very latest in cutting-edge floorfillers, as well as anything else, from any genre, that takes their fancy. All in a pub full of club-level lighting, strobes, smoke and a hefty dose of atmosphere. Oh and lasers. Yes, frickin’ LASERS. In a pub. On a Sunday. Because we are McChuills.

This week, they’re joined by special guest DJ Fool Sender.

No stranger to Glasgow’s club scene and green rooms Fool Sender has been quietly honing his trade for over ten years, yet only recently started sharing his tunes. Taking inspiration from the sounds of the city plus influencers of the past and peers of the present, his recent forays playing out have been raw and ready…

🚨Happening Tonight In The Pub🚨

After their mega first gig here last year, we are buzzing that The Real People are back in McChuills this very evening…

One of the most influential and respected bands to come out of the UK over the last four decades, The Realies also played an integral part in the early days of Oasis from developing and recording their now-legendary Live Demonstration Tape to inspiring songs like Columbia and Don’t Go Away, as well as playing on or co-writing others such as Supersonic and Rocking Chair.

The Realies continue to write, record and play live, with this upcoming gig providing a rare chance for fans new and old to see them perform their peerless back catalogue in stripped-down acoustic versions and hear some of the stories behind the songs.

Their last show here was absolutely outstanding and this one will be every bit as immense. Get yrself down, you really don’t want to miss this one…

Tomorrow night in the bar, we have the solo debut of one of the DJs that has impressed us the most out of all the guests that have played Lets Go Back’s Sunday Soundclash Rave, in the shape of thee awesome Hubey.

With a house head and an acid heart, Hubey has been dishing out bangers around Glasgow, playing with OH parties, Luna Roja and, most recently, featuring on Anthony Lovell’s Sub City radio show Expressions. Expect house, acid, techno and a journey weaving to all the stops in between.Further afield, Hubey can be found bringing the “club in a pub” vibe to Dumfries’ beloved The Dougie Arms.

She really is something special and blew us all away the last time she was here, so we can’t wait to see what she does with four hours to herself on a Friday night. Get yrself down and join us, the weekend starts in McChuill’s…

After their FIFA World Cup (mis)adventures, Scotland National Team are back in competitive action today, with their first Nations League group stage game against the lads from the country that gave us Laibach, Micky Dolenz, "Weird Al" Yankovic and Sabrina, the Teenage Witch - Slovenia, or Nogometna zveza Slovenije to their mum. 🇸🇮

It’s a 2pm kickoff and we’ve got it on all the screens, as well as a delightful range of tasty bevvy and our own national treasure, DJ Nicky who’ll be cranking out all yr favourite McChuills matchday anthems as always. He might even take requests if they’re not sh*te, you never know…

So don’t sit in the house all day or (worse), make the most of a nice day doing something healthy and productive (💀), get yrself down here and join us in cheering on what’ll hopefully be the first step towards seeing Scotland qualifying for another major tournament. For everyone who’s been asking (and there’s been a lot of you), yes we’re bringing thee legendary Richard Sen back up to McChuills. 🙏🏻

Every single time he’s been here, it’s been absolutely off the scale, with each one somehow better than the last, so getting him back in the Acid Arch was always going to happen. If you were at any of them, you know what we’re talking about and if you weren’t, trust us, you really, really don’t want to miss him again.

His sound draws from 1970s, ‘80s and ‘90s influences, but places them firmly in the present, with a genre-fluid selection seamlessly flowing back and forth between retro and future, dark and light, disco, Italo, wonky house, electro, breakbeat and deep techno.

As well as DJing, Richard has released music under the guises of Bronx Dogs and Padded Cell, as well as remixing everyone from Bryan Ferry and John Grant to Unloved (David Holmes’ band) and LCD Soundsystem.

Support on the night comes from thee immense Anthony Lovell, so get down early as the party will be properly kicking off as soon as the doors open. As always… 🙏🏻

Oh and did we mention we’re open ‘til 1am? Because we are. HWFG. 😍

This will 100% sell out and fast btw. Don’t sleep on it.

The weekend is finally here and it’s pay weekend as well thank f**k, not that it makes much difference these days under the Thatcherite Junta. 💀 It’s cool though, as we’ve got the bold Nicky Wright bringing the good vibes as always with his sublime Waterpistol party.

You know the drill by now. Nicky will be spinning the very best in funk, soul, Balearic, disco and house music all night long and as he’s done every time he’s played here - which we reckon is more times than anyone who’s name doesn’t end in Stewart. Don’t quote us on that, though. Anyway, he’ll have the place jumping from start to finish. Guaranteed.

Coming up in November is another band we’ll never tire of booking. Absolute Weller are hands down the best tribute to the Modfather himself, from his early days with The Jam,through The Style Council and into his extensive solo career that is still firing on all cylinders to this day.

One of the best things about Paul Weller gigs is you never know what he’s going to play on the night. He can get away with that though, because he’s Weller, eh? If you want hits, more hits and maybe even some more hits though, you want to see Absolute Weller. There might be some rare cuts chucked in there, but on the whole, it’s pretty much every banger you want to hear, perfectly cranked out one after another.

They sell out every show for us, so don’t sleep on these, eh? Come on doon, you know it makes sense.
