Join us for 15 seconds in Glen Galmadale ⛰️

The Highlands are often described as an escape, but what exactly are we escaping from?

Sometimes life is simply busy. An escape to the Highlands might mean a week tucked away in a holiday cottage, surrounded by mountains, lochs and fresh air. Other times, it might just be 15 seconds of beautiful Highland scenery on your screen — a little reminder to stop for a moment and appreciate just how beautiful the world around us can be.

At Kingairloch, we’re incredibly lucky to live and work amongst scenery like this every day. It’s something we never want to take for granted, and something we love being able to share with you.

Whether you’re joining us for 15 seconds today or coming to stay a little longer, we hope you enjoy this small escape to Glen Galmadale.

Book your stay with us via our website or email [email protected] to enquire ⛰️

The days are getting shorter, there’s a cooler feel to the mornings and the first autumn colours are starting to appear across the estate.
Each season brings something different to Kingairloch, and there’s something particularly special about these weeks of change, as summer slowly gives way to autumn and the landscape settles into a new season. 🍂

The autumn equinox has passed, and there’s a definite change in the air at Kingairloch 🍂

The days are getting shorter, the mornings a little cooler and the colours across the estate are beginning to turn. Out on the hill, the stags are becoming more vocal, and across the estate work continues as we prepare to head into the colder months.

It’s a lovely time of year here. It’s a little quieter, a little slower, with autumn settling into the glen and along the shores of Loch a’ Choire.

The season has well and truly changed. 🍂

After a day exploring Kingairloch, what better way to round off your adventure than with a meal at The Boathouse on the shore of loch a’Choire, where you’ll be met with a warm welcome, great food and a relaxed atmosphere.

🌿 Wildlife at Kingairloch 🌿

Buzzards are a familiar sight here at Kingairloch. Often seen circling quietly above the hills, perched along the roadside or watching over the fields, they’re very much part of the landscape.

They also have an important job to do. Feeding on small mammals and carrion, buzzards help to keep a natural balance across the estate and are an important part of the wider ecosystem.

It’s easy to get used to seeing them, but there’s still something special about looking up and spotting one soaring overhead.

Another small part of what makes Kingairloch such a wonderful place for wildlife. 🌿🪶

“What a find! Worth the long and winding journey to get there.”

We love receiving reviews like this from guests who have made the journey to The Boathouse.

From the food and warm service to candlelight, soft music and views across the loch, it’s wonderful to hear that they found exactly what we hope The Boathouse can be, a little oasis of calm in the Highlands.

And the best bit? “We will be back.” 🤍

Thank you for such a lovely five-star review.

Why not make the journey and experience The Boathouse at Kingairloch for yourself? Come for the food, stay for the views, and enjoy a little Highland calm 🍽️
