🍻 WE’RE HIRING — FULL-TIME BARTENDER
THE MOSSET TAVERN

We’re looking for a welcoming, switched-on host to join the Mosset bar team.

Being a bartender at the Mosset is about a lot more than pouring pints. The Mosset is so much more than booze!

You’ll be chatting away with our regulars while keeping one eye on who needs served, watching the door to make sure every guest gets a warm welcome, and making the right calls to ensure everyone has a great time.

Oh… and you’ll be doing all that while making cocktails, finding the keys for the pool table, getting the TV onto the right channel for the rugby and probably answering three questions at once! 😂

The job includes:
🍺 Serving guests at the bar
🍽️ Taking food orders & serving bar meals
☕ Coffee service
🍸 Making cocktails
📺 Keeping an eye on the entertainment
🛢️ Changing kegs
🧽 Keeping the bar and pub spotless
❤️ Looking after our regulars and welcoming new guests

It’s a job that requires energy, personality and plenty of multitasking — but if you enjoy being busy and genuinely like looking after people, you’ll love it.

THE DETAILS

📍 Mosset Tavern, Forres
⏰ Full-time
📅 Varied shifts, usually 7–9 hours
Typical shifts can include:
• 1pm–9pm
- 12pm until 6pm
• 2pm–10pm
• 5pm–1.30am

💷 Wages above minimum wage
🌙 New late-night additional payment to reward those unsociable hours
📄 Contracted hours — no zero-hours contract
📈 Training & genuine career progression

The Mosset tavern family were so saddened to learn of the heartbreaking news that our friend and former colleague Beth, passed away this week.

Beth joined the Mosset Tavern very shortly after we arrived, initially as a chef before progressing through the ranks to become our first manager. It was in that role that everyone could witness her caring and selfless nature where she would always put the needs of her team mates before hers.

Exceptionally hard working, caring, sweet and very funny. She shaped the culture of the foh team all those years ago. Even though she escaped hospitality, she's still very much part of the Mosset history.

Our profound condolences to Beth's family, to Scott and her loyal friends.

ANGUS (Dunphail)
Sadly but peacefully, after a battle fought so courageously, at Raigmore Hospital, Inverness, on Wednesday, 23rd September 2026, Beth Angus (née Nicolson), of Viewfield, Dunphail, aged 39 years. Beloved wife of Scott, and a proud and adored daughter of Donelle and Grant, a much-loved sister of Kate, Jane and Ruth, a dear niece and aunt, and a sadly missed relative and friend to many. Funeral arrangements to follow.

FINDHORN BAY FESTIVAL - Kings of Swing with Colin Steele at the Mosset Tavern today!

Trumpeter Colin Steele (Scottish Jazz Musician of the Year 2025) brings together a stellar line-up of Scotland’s finest swing jazz players for an unforgettable performance. This outstanding ensemble performs timeless jazz hits from the 1930s and 40s, celebrating the golden era of swing with music from legends such as Louis Armstrong, Benny Goodman and Duke Ellington.

The musicians also warmly invite audience participation – for the second set, tune requests are encouraged, so if you have a favourite swing classic, let them know and they’ll be delighted to play it.

Featuring Colin Steele (trumpet), Martin Foster (clarinet & saxophone), Campbell Normand (piano), Roy Percy (double bass) and Jim Drummond (drums).

🧠 QUIZZING HEADLINES | TUESDAY 22ND SEPTEMBER

Usually things start to tail off at Mosset HQ around this time of year…

Not so this Tuesday!

A whopping 121 quizzers made their way down for the quiz. Was it because the 90s were calling? 📼

Making Up The Numbers enjoyed another victory! 🏆

Well done to this lovely team — they really know their stuff and, more importantly, they work together brilliantly.

Although I do think Shaz gets a hard time… Poor girl! 🤣

And what a trip down 90s memory lane it was.

The Crystal Maze theme tune kicked things off, while the music round took us everywhere from Gina G to Blur, and Crystal Waters to Take That!

Of course, Gordon had to shoehorn that one in. 🙄

And perhaps, just perhaps, I may have accidentally given away an answer over the microphone.

One job, GB. One job. 🤦‍♂️🤣

Our mystery voice was described as a shooting star and someone who loves a big night out…

It was, of course, Vic Reeves! ⭐🍺

There were some seriously high scores tonight, with Sceptical Believers and House of Gamers both putting in scores that on another night would very likely have been enough to take the win.

And then there were the Beaver Boys…

Who decided to become the Beaver Beach Boys for the evening, complete with Hawaiian shirts, shades and hats. 🌴😎

God only knows. 🎤🤣
