The Bookworm Teaser:
A 4-volume set of cookbooks sits perfectly in order from left to right on a shelf.
• Each volume is exactly 2 inches thick total.
• This includes a 0.25-inch front cover and a 0.25-inch back cover.
A literal bookworm starts eating at the very first page of Volume 1 and chews in a straight horizontal line all the way to the very last page of Volume 4.
👉 How many total inches did the worm chew through?
⚠️ THE RULES:
1. You must drop your answer as a number in the comments.
2. ONE WINNER ONLY: The prize goes to the first person to comment the correct answer.
3. If multiple people get it right, the comment section clock/timestamp determines the exact quickest answer. My clock is the final judge!
Good luck! Let's see who gets it first... ⏰👇
UPDATE: ANSWER
* The Winning Answer: 4.5 inches (or 4 and a half).
* Why?
When books are on a shelf, the first page of Volume 1 is on the inside right, and the last page of Volume 4 is on the inside left.
The worm only eats the front cover of Vol 1, all of Vol 2, all of Vol 3, and the back cover of Vol 4!
* Most people will guess 8 inches or 4 inches and be completely wrong
