On Wednesday 2nd of September 20 lads, the majority being current members of our Golf Society headed down to Ireland for our annual captains Golf Trip.
This year, current captain, Scotty, brought us to Tullamore GC, Portarlington GC, and finishing off at the Heritage Golf Resort, where we also stayed for the 2 nights. It was some spot, but the fine dining menu on night one had a few men wondering what exactly it was they were eating, “she’s no slice pizza, but it will do” 😂
For the 3rd year in a row the weather was kind to us, so no excuses there for any poor scoring, although the wind on the final day certainly directed a few loose shots out of bounds, or that’s what a few men have blamed anyway 😂
There was some great Golf played over the 3 days, and plenty of pints in between rounds.
Finishing in 3rd place over the 3 days, was Mark Ellis, some great shooting although he was well rested as you’ll see in the photos below 😴👏🥉
Coming in 2nd place was Timmy Smyton. Nice to see Timmy have a top 3 finish because he’s been non existent during this years society outings 😂👏🥈
Our overall winner this year was none other than Donald “down the middle” Egerton. 👏🥇Donald played some great golf, and brought us some great craic in the pub watching the horses over the few days “that’s a frankel pup, get on it” 🐎🍺😂😂
Also special mention to Thomas McGeehan, who was leading after the first two rounds, however he was unable to play the final round. Some would say Tom is the real winner, the people’s champion, Donald disagree’s 😅
Overall, a great trip and the PP golf society doing us all proud once again 😃🏌️♂️⛳️
