Walton Castle Cam is LIVE NOW

The last fully visible Walton Castle low tide is underway.

Tonight's low tide drops to just 20cm, with the first stones already starting to show as the sea retreats.

For the next couple of hours you'll be able to watch the remains of the lost castle gradually emerge from the water before the tide turns once again. Low tide final low is at approx 20:50 just before the sunset and not back in full daylight wiyh this visibility again until July

The sky is already starting to change over Old Felixstowe 🌅

We've been testing a new live camera overnight and this morning's sunrise is now beginning to unfold across the lagoon.

The sun isn't quite up yet, but the colours before dawn are often the best part.

Waiting for the Tide

A vessel resting on the Deben sandbanks this afternoon at the mouth of the estuary.

From what we could see, everyone appeared to be safe and there was no sign of any emergency response, suggesting this was simply a case of waiting for the tide to return.

The channels and sandbanks around the estuary are constantly changing, creating a very different landscape at low water.

With even lower tides due next week, it's a timely reminder of just how much of the estuary can be exposed when the sea retreats.

Really grateful to the Felixstowe Flyer for featuring our Walton Castle project this month.

Nice to see the story making page 3 — and even nicer to see one of our customers, who joined us on the last trip out to the stones, making the front cover photograph.

The whole thing started with simple curiosity looking out from the beach at Old Felixstowe, so it’s lovely seeing people connecting with the story.
