Last Thursday we had a brilliant slow cooker demo and tasting session thanks to Warm Homes Healthy People
Thanks to Lions Club we were able supply slow cookers to those who didn’t have one and a bag of ingredients to go home and make the recipes again

Loads of cakes , so many I forgot to get photos but there is a fab cake made with these strawberries and strawberry syrup!!
We are open 10-1.30
Our last cafe for a few weeks as we are taking a break and will be back in August

Kirsten Chaplin bought up the idea of new summer cake flavours so after a trip to the Sausage shop I have had a try of making strawberry syrup ready to make a cake on Tuesday
I’ve seen loads of people online making this so thought I’d give it a try then the strawberries can go into the cake batter and the syrup drizzled over the top when it’s hot from the oven!!

This week is , and we're shining a light on the incredible people who care for others every day.

Family carers support someone who couldn't manage without them due to illness, mental health challenges, disability or substance misuse. They come from all ages, backgrounds and walks of life and many don't even recognise themselves as carers.

In Suffolk alone, around 65,000 people provide unpaid care, with 1 in 7 workers balancing their job alongside caring responsibilities.

At Leading Lives, we've been out listening, learning and talking to carers so we can better understand their experiences and ensure our support continues to meet their needs.

If you're caring for a family member or friend, you don't have to do it alone. Support, advice and a listening ear are available from Suffolk Family Carers, who provide free support for unpaid carers of all ages across Suffolk.

Who's for caramel 🙋🏼

Tomorrow (Wednesday) we have a caramel theme on our cake table, but please don't worry if it's not your thing, we have many other delicious cakes too 😍

Tomorrow on our cake table you'll find;

✅ Chocolate cake
✅ Lemon curd cake
✅ Caramel ripple cake
✅ Date and caramel flapjack
✅ Cherry cake
✅ Oat cookies
✅ Fruit cake
✅ Marmalade cake

Our One Pot Wonder, served from midday, is vegetable pasta bake 👍🏼

Our cheese scones will be fresh out of the oven at 10am 🤩

We still have a few spaces left for Thursday
If you don’t have a slow cooker we have funding for you to have one and you get to take home a bag of ingredients to make the dishes at home
Plus there will be tea and cake and tasters

Next Thursday we have a slow cooker taster session at the cafe
These are great fun and you will learn some good recipes to make in a slow cooker not just soups and stews
A slow cooker is cheaper to run than a conventional oven

Lovely afternoon talking about the cafe at Kaleidoscope club
Cooking demo and talk about the cafe through the foods we make and prepare
Instead of cue cards I use food to remind me of everything I want to cover
The result was a cake stand with cake canapés and cupcakes along with cherry brandy soaked haribos and The Kitchen cabinet inspired flapjacks!!
Thank you ladies for your donation we will be using it towards our trips and activities
