Well the cats a little bit out of the bag.
We are in dreamland………
Here goes!
Drum roll…
We are proud to be taking over the village butcher’s shop following Kevin’s decision to sell the business.
As Farsley residents and owners of Farsley Fire & Smoke, we feel incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to continue a business that has been at the heart of the community for generations. With that in mind, the shop will be renamed Farsley Butchers & Smokery.
The most important thing for us is that this remains a proper community butcher’s shop. We firmly believe that businesses like this belong to the communities they serve, and our aim is to preserve the traditional butchery experience that local customers know and love whilst building on the fantastic foundations that Kevin has created.
Many people in Farsley already know us through Farsley Fire & Smoke, and we hope to bring the same passion for quality food, local produce and friendly service into the butcher’s shop. We have spent years working with Yorkshire farmers and producers and look forward to continuing that approach as we take the business forward.
Customers can continue to expect the traditional cuts and personal service they have always enjoyed, alongside some exciting additions including our own smoked bacon and hams, a range of smoked products and a wider selection of barbecue and smoking meats.
One thing we know is particularly important to local customers is the people behind the counter. That’s why we are so pleased that Nigel and Terry will be staying with us. They have been the beating heart of the shop for many years and their knowledge, experience and friendly service are a huge part of what makes the business so special.
You’ll also be seeing plenty of me in the shop. I’ll be working alongside Nigel, Terry and the team day-to-day, serving customers and helping to drive the business forward. Sarah will be bringing her creativity and ideas to the business as we develop the next chapter of the shop together.
Whilst there will be some new ideas and products, our focus is very much on protecting what has made this shop successful for so many years. We know how important it is to the people of Farsley and we feel privileged to be entrusted with its future.
Kevin will be in the shop until Saturday before taking a well-earned break, so if you’d like to see him and wish him well, please pop in and say farewell to a true local legend.
We’re incredibly excited about the future. There will probably be a few hiccups along the way as we find our feet, but that’s all part of the fun. We can’t wait to welcome both familiar and new faces through the doors of Farsley Butchers & Smokery.
