Asian Pears..... Grown at The Forest Garden just 2 miles out of Falmouth! Available this week- I will be collecting them Monday morning, along with a harvest of Herefordshire Russets. We will make sure to have a few extras for the pop up shop, 4-7 Draceana Centre annex.

Asian pears- sometimes known as Nashi pears, have a crunchy and firm texture, so don't let them soften like a pear! If you haven't tried one of these little beauties before you are in for a treat, they have the appearance of a russet, but the flavour of an amazingly juicy and floral pear.

While we are on the subjest of fruit- from further afeld we have some Physalis and Kiwiberries- both absolutely packed with flavour as well as being great sources of Vitamin C.

This week on the farm: our shiny new tunnel in the early morning light, cosy cooking season is back, carrot intruders in the strawberry patch, a Loveland plant album coming soon?!

Followed by a very wholesome weekend with our community apple day. Huge thanks to Sue who allowed us to ransack her gorgeous orchard! Our final feast of the year was the perfect summer send off. Late summer sunshine, hearty food, and all the colour from 💚💙 thank you everyone who made the weekend so special 🍂

As always we have an array of wonderful Loveland produce on our shop stall today. If you 'just missed out' on securing a share of Loveland veg on your online order, all is not lost - we might just have some for you to add to your basket! All are welcome to browse the shop, you don't need to be a registered customer to visit🧡

🍎APPLE DAY!🍏

A bit of a last minute call to join us on Saturday 3rd October (tomorrow!) at Loveland for lots of appley fun!

We'll be pressing apples to make juice for the feast, but there will be plenty to sip on during the day. We will have a little production line going: washing, chopping, scratching, pressing and bottling!! There may even be some apple bobbing!

We've a good amount of apples, but if you can scrump your own en route, the more the merrier! Any spare bottles also very welcome :)

This is a free event, but donations to take a bottle home are encouraged and all proceeds will go towards FFC's projects. Hot drinks and biscuits provided, bring along a packed lunch or something to share!

Spotted on our shop stall last Monday 😍 More of these beautiful winter celebration squash and hopefully (!) a couple of crown prince squash freshly picked from Loveland will be on the table today. Alongside an array of wonderful fruit, veg, store cupboard goods and treats. Open 4 - 7pm at the Dracaena Centre Annex. Cash & card payments welcome🧡

Just over two weeks to go until our Autumn Feast!!! 🍂 🎃 Sunday 4th October at Loveland Community Field.

We're busy planning the menu, and with so much beautiful produce coming from the Loveland market garden at the moment, it's looking to be a real celebration of the seasons!
