PARENTS OF LOCAL CHILDREN

They may take our sleep

They may take our sanity

They may take the last of the snacks from the cupboard at 9:47am

BUT THEY WILL NOT TAKE OUR FINAL TWO DAYS

For two days more, we endure

Two days more of:

“I’m bored.”

“I’m hungry.”

“Can we go somewhere?”

“HE’S ANNOYING ME.”

The dreaded…

“MUMMMMM!”

But on Wednesday…

THE GATES OF SCHOOL SHALL OPEN

The uniforms shall be worn and look
neat for 5 minutes

The lunchboxes shall be packed

But for the first time in six week

YOU SHALL HEAR THE SWEET, SWEET SOUND OF ABSOLUTE SILENCE

So stand firm, parents

Grab your coffees

Eat the cakes

Look into the middle distance

WE ARE SO CLOSE

The weather is absolutely giving “stay in bed” today vibes ☔️

But then we remembered we have S’mores Brookies in the cabinet

So really there’s no reason to stay home

Come in, get yourself a coffee and grab a slice to warm your soul

You deserve it and quite frankly the weather has been asking for it.

Sometimes it’s never just a scone

You might think you’re just popping in for a cheese scone and a coffee

But it’s more than that

It’s the 10 minutes you get to yourself

It’s catching up with someone you haven’t seen in ages

It’s the chat with the person behind the counter who knows your order

It’s sitting down, taking a breath and forgetting about everything else for a little while

It’s a wee treat after a busy morning

It’s meeting your mum, your pal, your partner

It’s part of your routine

So yeah, it might look like you’re just popping in for a cheese scone

But it’s usually about a whole lot more than that

Come in for the scone. Stay for the reason you came.

And somehow that’s just their name now.
