Enjoying the rays these days? Walk along with their Zines to learn about plants, foraging and horticulture from contributors around the world 🌺

All proceeds of the Zine go to the Lemon Tree Trust, a charity supporting gardening projects in refugee and displaced migrant communities🍋

Thank you for a beautiful month of love 🏹 Over February we sold A LOT of postcards, 4 successful dates and endless laughs, bravery and connections. You can re-read some of the postcards on the Valentines story highlight!

With half of the proceeds going to R**e Crisis Edinburgh, we also matched the donation to - please donate to/share their Go Fund Me if you can 🫶🏾

Thank you so much to for bringing her vision and creativity to Cheapshot (and introducing so many new faces to the box).

Please continue being brave and shooting your shot, if last month taught me anything, love comes to you when you least expect it 💌

Have you ever been lining up for a coffee and spotted someone just your type at the front of the queue? Maybe they’re just leaving as you’re arriving, you only catch their cheery goodbye and think ‘I need that energy in my life’ 👂Well, this month I’m asking you to shoot your shot at the box and find love in unexpected places🏹

How can I tell ‘oat cappuccino on a Monday afternoon girl’ how I feel? It’s simple!!

1. Buy a postcard from Cheapshot - we’ve got 3 new designs in store illustrated by half of all profit made from postcards will go to

2. Write a description of your box crush and stick it on the outside of the box for them to find, don’t forget to write contact details on the back!

3. If you see a postcard that describes you, pick it up and get in contact!

Love and connection can enter our lives in mysterious ways, you may be surprised at who shares your coffee order, goes to the same tutorial as you or has been eyeing up the back of your head for a while 👀

Introducing 3 new postcards to bring in February - a month celebrating reflection, connection, love and intimacy. Miriam Pritchard has designed ‘You’re Hot’, ‘To bean or not to bean’ and ‘Latino’ to illustrate fun and playfulness in close relationships. Intimacy, love, consent don’t have to be heavy topics navigated awkwardly at the beginning of getting to know someone but can form part of the joy of being with them and discovering more about the people in our lives. This month pick up a postcard (especially as half of the proceeds go to ) and try inviting in these themes in your conversations with loved ones, you might be surprised at what you learn about them and yourself✨

Miriam's playful and witty illustrations capture the little moments of life that often go unnoticed. Woah, thank you for the most special 4 months Cheapshot fam! From flat whites to Biscoff lattes I’ve loved serving you all the boost that starts your day and being an impartial (often enabling) confidant 🖤 While we all take a well deserved rest I’ll be planning to welcome you back in January with a smile and cheap delicious coffee. I’ll find the time to eat my body weight in roast potatoes too. Rest up wonderful people, see you all from January 9th ☺️

New landscape, new prices, same speciality. Thank you to everyone who participated in my less-than-scientific poll last week. After much consideration, the cost of our shots is going up by 25p today.

Cheaphsot is still pretty cheap, but we have to move with the current climate (when will we be able to stop saying this) and make sure we can continue to serve fantastic coffee, hopefully still at a reasonable price.

In better news, coffee add-ons are going down by 25p, so a win for the people who get syrup, no changes there.

First off, if you saw me on North Bridge smiling cheek to cheek with tears in my eyes. No you didn’t.

That silly-little-2.6-square-meter police box has given me some of the most joyous and most stressful moments I could imagine. It attracts a host of wonderfully weird characters, alongside many of the most, funny, kind, and loving individuals I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting!

I’ve had the opportunity to connect with an incredible community of local business owners who have been a huge support and have nothing but my respect for facing the same challenges I’ve been given, all without the ever present guidance of a guardian Paddy.

As for all you coffee drinking customers, I’m eternally grateful for Cheapshot allowing our paths to cross. There are so many of you I now consider friends for life (whether you like it or not). It’s hard to put into words what Cheapshot has done for me, for one I no longer have the ability to feel the cold, and can now consume around 8 shots of espresso like its water - but more than that it has afforded me the space, responsibility, and autonomy to grow into a version of myself I don’t think I would be otherwise.

Thank you for building this tiny wee empire, the impact it continues to have is greater than you know. Thank you for training me, supporting me when I felt clueless, and then dealing with a years worth of “but would you do this…?” I consider you one my closest allies. Thank you for dealing with a crazy month of hectic training, I have nothing but faith for the year ahead and I can’t wait to see what you make if it!

Right, before I get any more soppy with these farewells thank all of you for being a part of my time here and for making me a part of your day, be it for a one-off flat white or a latte twice a daily.
