A huge thank you to everyone who attended our ‘Sikhs in the Spotlight’ event last night at Edinburgh Gurdwara.

We were absolutely blown away by the turnout & unity. It was lovely to see everyone engaging, asking questions and curious to know more.

We hope you left with a little more knowledge and feeling full with love & food. Raising awareness in current times is so important to us. The actions of one individual does not represent an entire race.

Now let us show you who we really are! 🙏🏽

As a one-off special event, we’re inviting our incredible customers, neighbours & friends to visit our place of worship. The Gurdwara, our second home, a place where we learn, reflect, recharge and find peace.

Come & discover who we truly are as people, as a community, and as a faith.

We’re delighted to be joined by the incredible who will guide you through the Sikh journey, sharing our history, beliefs, values and traditions.

After the tour, enjoy complimentary Chai and Pakoras from yours truly! ☕🥟💜

A few things to note:

🧣 Please bring a scarf or head covering. A beanie hat is acceptable. However, no caps or hats. For those who don’t have a head covering, we can supply you with one.

👕 Arms and legs should be covered

🚭 No alcohol, ci******es or drugs are permitted on site

🙏 Everyone is welcome

We want to bring awareness to an incident we discovered this morning.

Sadly our van had been targeted and vandalised between last night and this morning.

We’re upset, frustrated and can only put this down to the online tensions surrounding the tragic death of Henry Nowak in Southampton and are hearing stories of other families and businesses being targeted across the uk.

Our deepest condolences are with the Nowak family during this incredibly difficult time. We completely condemn the actions of the individual responsible.

As a Sikh family and business, we are proud of who we are and the community we belong to. The actions of an individual doesn’t represent an entire race & community. Please understand that!

We are devastated that incidents like this are occurring and concerned by the hostility being directed towards us, innocent families and our community.

The police have been informed and we’ll provide them with any info needed.

If anyone in the area has CCTV footage covering Summerside Street, we would be grateful if you could get in touch.
