We’re beyond excited to officially announce the GRAND OPENING of our second location at Tollcross on Wednesday 18th June 2025. 🤩🇬🇷

After months of planning, prepping, and pouring our hearts into every detail, we can’t wait to welcome you through the doors and share even more of the authentic Greek flavours you know and love. Expect our signature gyros and souvlaki, fresh salads, and of course—our famous homemade tzatziki! 😍

The moment you step into our Tollcross shop, we want you to feel like you’ve been whisked away to the sun-drenched streets of Santorini – where the air is warm, the food is soul-soothing, and every bite brings a taste of Greek island life.

Hey lovely Porty people! 💙

We’ve made a little tweak to our opening hours at the Portobello branch, and we wanted to keep you in the loop!

🕐 Starting imminently, we’ll be closing on Mondays in Porty — but don’t panic! We’re still here to serve you your favourite Greek eats on the following;

🥙 Tuesday to Saturday: 12pm – 9pm
🥙 Sunday: 12pm – 8pm

Your Mondays might be a little quieter without us, but there’s exciting news… 👀

Our fab Monday Porty crew will be heading over to help get things rolling at our Tollcross location — the opening date will be announced very soon! 🎉

Sunshine, sea breeze, and the best gyros in hand — what more could you want? 🥙☀️🏖️ Taking a little break to enjoy our own food down at Portobello Beach, and honestly… perfection. Crispy chips, juicy meat, that garlicky tzatziki hit — hits different with a sea view! 🌊Stopping to greet all the neighbourhood cats is optional, but highly recommended! 🐈🤣If you’re nearby, come say hi and grab something to-go! Trust us- you’ll love it! 👌🏼

We’re so excited to finally share what we’ve been working on…

Nixos Greek Street Food is expanding to Tollcross this summer! 🇬🇷☀️😍

Since opening our first shop in Portobello in July 2023, it’s been an incredible journey bringing authentic Greek street food to Edinburgh. Thanks to the amazing support from our customers—both locals and those who’ve traveled across the city to visit us—we now have the opportunity to bring our flavours to central Edinburgh! 🙌🏻

If you’d told us two years ago this would be happening, we might not have believed it… but truthfully, this was our vision from the start. Seeing it come to life is a dream come true!

For anyone new here, we’re Nick and Jenny—a couple who connected over our love of food more than a decade ago. After working in a completely different industry, Nick couldn’t shake his desire to bring the rich, authentic Greek and Cypriot flavours of his childhood to Edinburgh. That dream led to opening our first shop in Portobello—an exciting (but slightly terrifying!) leap that turned out to be the best decision we ever made.

Of course, none of this would be possible without our hardworking, passionate team, who have helped shape Nixos into what it is today—thank you for all you do! 💙

We’re working hard to get everything just right, and while we’re aiming for an early summer opening, great food (and a proper renovation!) takes time. You can’t rush the cooking process—the gyros’ on the spit will tell us when it’s ready! 🤣

We can’t wait to meet new faces and welcome our Portobello regulars to see the new space. This journey has been amazing, and we’re so excited for what’s next! ✨
