📢 Sangat Ji – Chabeel Seva TODAY!

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!

This Saturday 7th June, we will be holding a Chabeel Day Seva on the Royal Mile, outside The Tron Kirk, Edinburgh from 1:30pm to 3:30pm.

Come along and take part in this beautiful act of love and service – handing out cold, sweet Chabeel to the public and sharing the spirit of Chardi Kala in remembrance of the great sacrifices made in 1984.

Let’s come together as a Sangat to spread positivity and educate others about Sikhi through Seva and compassion.

I would like to invite you to join us at the Pilrig Park on Sunday 1st May, 2022 from 10am onwards till 4pm to celebrate the Vaisakhi festival.

There will be loads of activities for kids/adults, few workshops as & food stalls. There will be also be stalls for Indian clothing and Jewellery should you wish to buy these.

The event is funded by the Edinburgh Gurdwara & completely free for the public & everyone is most welcome to come and join us.

Should you wish to make a donation or volunteer then please reach out to any of the dedicated volunteers.

We only request you to keep the park clean, avoid throwing any litter on the ground and use the dedicated bins provided.

Let's all get together with all our family & friends and enjoy the day.

To Celebrate the Parkash Purab Of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Jee Maharaj, the sangat/volunteers of Edinburgh Gurdwara will be running a Guru Nanak Free Kitchen service "FREE HOT FOOD & Personal Hygiene Handout Drive, on Saturday 5th December from 12pm-3pm at 2 Princes Street, Edinburgh. (Next to the Iron Duke Statue & Apple Store)

Volunteers Will Be Distributing Free Hot Meals & snacks alongside free socks, underwear, & toiletries for the needy. 🙏🏽

HOW CAN YOU HELP??

- Please share this post & tag any local Homeless shelters you know of that may benefit from this service.
- Turn up on the day & help with the service.
- Donate any type of warm clothing/blankets/goods that can be handed out on the day.

We are proud to confirm the we will now be running the GNFK service every week. Today we will be at our usual location (Kirkgate, Leith) for 5pm to help our local community. Tonight we'll be service rice with chickpea & potatoes curry, pakoras, juice/water, crisps, etc. So please feel to come round & grab a bite to eat. All the food is being prepared at the Edinburgh Guru Nanak Gurdwara with high hygiene standards for everyone's safety.

We from Edinburgh Guru Nanak Gurudwara hope & pray that everyone is all safe and sound.

We are proud to confirm the we are running the first GNFK service in Edinburgh post lockdown. We are on our way to Western General Hospital to deliver around 200 boxes of langar prepared at the Edinburgh Gurdwara with Guru maharaj blessing. We are then planning to visit Kirkgate for 2pm to also help our local community.

We at Edinburgh Guru Nanak Gurudwara hope & pray that everyone is all safe and sound. Following all the recent government announcements and slight ease in the rules we were planning to kick start the Guru Nanak Free Kitchen service to help the needy in our local community. The initial plan is to run the service on 7th June (Sunday) as decided by the Gurudwara committee.

Therefore, we are looking for your suggestions on how we should proceed. If anyone knows of any homeless accommodation where we can help, then please reach out and let us know. All the meals will be prepared & packed at the gurdwara sahib with highest standards of hygiene for everyone’s safety. We can then do the rounds and hand these over where agreed. Alternatively, all other suggestions are welcome.
