This Sunday in Easton refugees and Bristolians will be coming together to discuss how we can welcome refugees in to our community.

Join us at 12pm for free tea and lunch, at the new Afghani restaurant and community hub- Afghan Tasty Corner, BS5 0NR.

This will be an opportunity to meet with the refugee community in Bristol and other people who want to become more actively involved in resisting the government's hostile environment.

We are only as strong as we are united, as weak as we are divided.

This is part of 's CommuniTea campaign to throw tea parties and bring the conversation of community-led welcome to communities.

We can't wait to see you there!

Tasty Corner is open 7 days a week bringing Afghani deliciousness to the people of Bristol.

We have plenty of vegan options, including a new vegan lamb substitute, as well as plenty of veg dishes, rice and naan breads in addition to meat options.

We look forward to seeing you soon!

We are open!!

Afghan Tasty Corner is an independent business bringing a piece of home to the growing Afghani community in Bristol, and travel and new experiences (not to mention incredible food!) to Bristolians without ever having to leave Bristol.

Our menu includes:

🌻 Kabuli Palau- Rice with raisins and caramelised carrots. Traditionally topped with lamb, we offer a meat and a vegan version with mock lamb!

🌻 Bolani- Stuffed flatbread. Thinks leeks, potato, spring onions…

🌻 Lots of veg and meat dishes, fresh baked naans and paratha (fried bread), and much more!

Thank you so much everyone for your wonderful support so far! 🐳💪🏾💪🏻

We received over £100 in donations through the gofundme (link in bio) and in cash donations from people attending on the day. Thank you to everyone who donated to support Unity (and lunch!) in the Community!

This money enabled us to buy fresh fruit which was happily gobbled by passing children, as well as cooking up two monster pots of Kabuli rice and a delicious stew-like potato sauce 🤤🤤 (apologies for not knowing the name and no pics, will do better next time! There were also more than four people there I promise)

One of the aims of this experimental soft opening day was to test out the idea of using a more formal Pay as you Feel system when serving food to the community.

In the 5 months Khano had the cafe open, he never turned away a hungry person even if they couldn't pay. However, he was struggling to keep this financially sustainable.

Following Friday's success, he has decided to give a formalised PAYF system (with suggested prices to reflect costs etc) a go when the cafe proper re-opens very soon!

The money donated will go towards the opening of the shop and the continuation of the Unity Community cafe 💗
