Why this pink?
It's bold, it's bright, and it has a brilliant history.
Meet Rosa Mexicano (Mexican Pink).
Far from just a trend, this specific shade is a cornerstone of Mexican architecture and culture-made famous worldwide in the 1940s as a symbol of our country's vibrant energy and artistic soul.
As we prep our new space at Albert Parade, we're painting a few nods to our roots. This pink is our way of bringing the authentic warmth, passion, and contemporary style of Mexico to Eastbourne.

Ever seen these incredible aerialists in Mexico? The Voladores de Papantla (Dance of the Flyers) isn’t just a performance—it’s a sacred Mesoamerican ritual with over 450 years of history.
Here is the meaning behind the magic:
• The Ritual: Five men climb a 30-meter pole. Four represent the cardinal directions and the elements (Earth, Air, Fire, Water), while the fifth, the Caporal, stays at the top playing a flute and drum to honor the sun and ancestors.
• The Descent: As they launch into the air, the four flyers circle the pole 13 times each. Why? Because 13 \times 4 = 52, representing the 52-year cycle of the ancient Mesoamerican calendar.
• The Purpose: Originally from the Totonac people of Veracruz, this “flight” was a prayer to the gods to end drought and bring rain to the crops. It symbolizes the connection between the earthly world and the divine.
Today, it is recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. A breathtaking reminder of Mexico’s deep-rooted traditions! 🇲🇽✨

It’s finally happening 🌮✨

After months of planning, paperwork and patience, we are incredibly excited to share that we have received official approval from the Council to convert the former public toilets into Casa Mex shop and El Changarro restaurant.

What started as an idea is now becoming a reality, and we can’t wait to bring this space to life and share it with you all.

Thank you to everyone who supported us, believed in the project and stood by us throughout the process.

This is just the beginning — and we’re so excited for what’s coming next.

Watch this space 👀🇲🇽
