Good Morning Lanchester Folk and our customers in the wider community.
As many of you know I have been planning to retire after 23 years living and running my business in Lanchester.
Our home and business is now in the final process of being sold and we will be finally off to retire to the Newcastle suburbs where we will be closer to our adult children on the 15th November.
As such MY FINAL SHIFT will be this Saturday November 9th when we will close at 7.30pm.
As a family we have loved our time in the village, my children forged enduring friendships in their time here at local schools and colleges before launching into university life and the reality of working lives. Happily they have followed my wife Clare's example into the world of Health and Social Care rather than mine in the world of Surveying and being a small business owner.
Clare will of course keep her links with the village for her 6 weekly fix with Jenni at Talking Heads and Charlotte at Bellissimo !!!!
I am also thankful to Susan for her 23yrs of excellent and faithful service and who will be retiring with me but obviously remaining in this lovely village in which she was born and has lived all her life.
My brother in law Tom who worked with me for 19 of those years retired in July and has relocated to Doncaster to be close to his 3 sons and 5 adorable grandchildren. He is doing well and recently had a visit from one of the many friends he made in the village.
We are sad to be leaving but also at 76 glad to be able to put my feet up at last and enjoy some well earned relaxation and time with Clare and our family and friends.
Thank You Lanchester Folk for your custom and friendship over the years. The Atkinsons are Leaving The Village! But not the lovely memories which will endure.
With all best wishes
Henry and Clare.
