There’s always something lovely to spot outside Cafédral… and this time, it looks like we’ve been joined by a very cheeky little resident robin 🐦

Perched proudly outside our café, this little visitor seems right at home and we can’t say we blame him. With good food, fresh coffee and a cosy spot to stop off in the heart of Durham, it’s a lovely place to pause for a while.

If you’re out and about, pop in and join us for something to eat, a coffee or a catch-up with friends… and keep an eye out to see if our feathered friend is still about ☕🥪✨

After 8 years, this one feels like a big goodbye.

A lot of our followers and customers will know Ashley straight away because she’s been such a familiar face at Cafédral Durham for so long. She’s been part of the day-to-day life of the café through so many different chapters, and that’s not something you can easily put into words.

She’s been here through the busy Durham Uni years, the madness of Covid, new staff joining, others moving on, and all the ups and downs that come with a busy café. Through all of it, Ashley has been a huge part of the team and a massive part of Cafédral as people know it.

For so many customers, she won’t just be someone who worked here. She’ll be one of the faces they remember, one of the people who helped make this place feel welcoming, familiar and like home.

Ashley, thank you for everything you’ve given over the last 8 years. Thank you for the hard work, the loyalty, the laughs, the graft, and for being such a big part of the team for so long. You’ve been part of so many important years here, and you’ll be missed more than you know.

We’re really excited for you as you start this next chapter and head off to Northumberland for a new adventure. You’ve been such a big part of Cafédral Durham, and we know so many people will want to wish you all the best too.
