💙🧀 Now THAT is a proper piece of Stilton! 🧀💙

There’s something incredibly satisfying about watching Lisa cut into a huge wedge of cheese... especially when the cheese in question is Colston Bassett Stilton! 😍

Made in Nottinghamshire using traditional methods, Colston Bassett is one of the great names in Stilton, renowned for its wonderfully rich, creamy texture and beautifully balanced blue flavour.

And just LOOK at those veins running through it! 👀💙

It has all that distinctive savoury, tangy character blue-cheese lovers crave, but with a lovely creaminess that makes it dangerously easy to keep going back for just one more piece...

Serve it the classic way with crackers, grapes, figs or a good chutney; crumble it over a salad; melt it into a sauce; or pair it with a glass of port for a proper treat. 🍷

🌿🧀 Well, this one certainly knows how to make an entrance!

Meet Cornish Yarg – a spectacular semi-hard cheese whose first “wow” comes before we even cut into it! Each wheel is carefully wrapped in nettle leaves, creating that incredible edible rind and helping the cheese develop its distinctive flavour as it matures.

Inside, it’s creamy beneath the rind with a delightfully crumbly core, while its fresh, slightly lemony flavour has delicate earthy and mushroomy notes. And don’t worry – there’s absolutely no sting in those nettles! 😉

A guaranteed showstopper on any cheeseboard, serve it with crisp apple or grapes, oatcakes and a light fruity chutney… although it’s equally delicious eaten just as it comes!

🧀 Market Cheese & Deli – it’s about so much more than cheese!

Now, don’t get us wrong, with more than 200 varieties, Lisa probably has the greatest selection of cheese in the area. But venture beyond that glorious cheese counter and you’ll discover shelves absolutely packed with all kinds of deliciousness!

You can find everything from crackers, chutneys, pickles, olives and pâté to salami, chorizo, Durham Butter, free-range eggs and locally produced yoghurts. There are also sauces, oils, preserves, honey and Durham Mustard, plus biscuits, cakes, cannoli and plenty of gluten-free goodies too. You’ll even find beeswax food wraps!

🇮🇹 A little taste of Italy… without leaving Durham Market Hall!

Our selection of gorgeous cannoli is crisp, creamy and seriously scrummy, with flavours including pistachio, lemon, salted caramel, roasted hazelnut, walnut chocolate, and chocolate & rum. The only difficult bit is deciding which box to choose!

And, with a mix of standard and gluten-free options available, those avoiding gluten don’t need to miss out on all this deliciousness either. 🙌

Perfect with an after-dinner coffee, for a little treat, and are lovely for sharing… or perhaps far too good to share at all! 🙈

🧀 Ooh la la… Lisa’s cutting into something rather special!

Munster A.O.P. is a traditional French washed-rind cheese, made with cow’s milk in Lorraine and carefully matured in Alsace. Don’t be fooled by its famously punchy aroma – underneath that distinctive rind is a wonderfully soft, creamy cheese with a rich, savoury flavour.

Enjoy it at room temperature with crusty bread and a spoonful of chutney, serve it the traditional way with warm potatoes and a sprinkle of caraway seeds, or melt it over toast for the ultimate indulgent cheese fix. Delicious with a crisp white wine or a cold beer too!
